An absolutely idyllic villa located 30 kilometres and 1 hours drive from Accra airport, nestled in the rainforests of the Akwapim mountain ridge just beyond the Presidential lodge at Peduase and above the village of Agyementi. On its own enclosed premises, the villa is complimented by its mature, verdurous and verdant garden and fishpond. The living space and rooms are all on the first floor with terraces and balconies. A Jacuzzi and sauna is also available for use on request at extra cost.

The space
The villa has a preserved, distinctive colonial feel to it throughout. It has a bright airy living room on the first floor with a terrace. This space is also served by a mezzanine attic space that boasts sweeping panoramic views of Accra & Tema in the daytime and more spectacularly at night. The entire living space is eclectically furnished in wood and with local artwork and artefacts. Bedrooms are ensuite and comfortably furnished with four poster beds. Time by the pond and walks in the garden are highly recommended.

Guest access
The entire property is available to guests.

Other things to note
A few realities of the premises: it is important for the guest that your expectations are in alignment with the environment of the place.
1). So, it is really in the rainforest countryside mountain. It is therefore very much the place for nature lovers, and not the thing for “city slickers”!
2). Although completely safe, arriving at the villa at midnight is a no no. This is merely due to the fact that the property is some distance away from Accra, and the last couple miles to destination is accessed via an untarred road. Guests would therefore need to follow directions carefully and preferably in daylight.
3). It will take you over an hour to get there, and travelling to an unknown destination though exciting, would likely not be enjoyable at night.
4). It is very much a secluded retreat and therefore one would have to make sure that one travels up with food and rations. There are no shops nearby.
5). There is no back up generator and electricity does tend to go off from time to time. Only solar lanterns are provided by the host for illumination on such occasions.
6). There is WiFi, but it is a narrow bandwidth strongest on the Terrace and for email and light communication.
7). There is not hot water, - all pipe borne water is regular temperature.
8). The premises is secure, and walled, and with a caretaker, but there is no stewards help. A cleaner comes to the villa every two days to clean up, but guests will be on their own by and large.

Bird watching and nature walks are highly recommended as there is much to see on natural display of the forest.

Taifa, Greater Accra Region, Ghana

It’s a rainforest with lots to see and to explore. Incredible birdsong twice a day at dawn and at dusk.
