Location

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Bloor West Village, a beautiful, leafy neighbourhood full of interesting shops and cafes, is a super convenient location if you're visiting downtown Toronto. The lovely old century home you will be staying in is less than 5 minutes by foot from the Runnymede subway station (better known in Toronto as the TTC). From there it’s a direct ride to the city centre.

According to Toronto Life magazine’s 2018 ranking of Toronto neighbourhoods, Bloor West Village is the top-rated neighbourhood in the city! Here’s what they say about us: “…bustling but cloistered from downtown, hip but not as precious as Roncesvalles, classy but not as pricy as Baby Point. It scores well in virtually every metric: it’s safe and accessible (Jane and Runnymede stations are nearby), and its charming old homes are relatively affordable… trendy Bloor and Dundas West bars and restaurants are just a short walk away…and, of course, [there’s] the sprawling High Park.”

High Park, a large scenic oasis of green, is a 10-minute walk away, with walking/running trails, tennis courts and a swimming pool. You can easily hike to the Lake Ontario boardwalks watch or participate in the sailing, rowing and beach volleyball there. For cyclists, bike paths in the neighbourhood can take you for miles through city parks and ravines. In winter there are skating rinks and tobogganing hills within walking distance. If you're coming with children, they will love all the recreational activities nearby.

We are located on a leafy, residential street lined with big old trees. This peacefulness, combined with the fact that within minutes you can be clothes shopping, sitting on an outdoor restaurant patio, visiting a library or taking in movie, makes Bloor West Village a great location for your stay in Toronto.

One of my favourite places to be is in a canoe on a beautiful Ontario lake or camping under the stars. But I also love the energy and diversity of a big city, and Toronto is such a great place for that! I like eating out in small restaurants, going to films that make me laugh or think, and hiking or cycling in the city ravines. I sing in a community choir and study dance. In my professional life I founded and directed a not for profit organization that does social inclusion training for students, teachers and parents in schools. Currently I do consulting in the area of diversity, social inclusion and team building. So I’m a people person, and I really enjoy welcoming people of diverse backgrounds into my home. Having lived in Toronto for a long time, I know it well and can point you towards interesting things to see and do in the city. We will be around if you need us, but since your suite is completely self-contained with your own entrance, you can also be as private as you like
