Description

The space

Private heated cabin behind a brick home in one of Toronto hippest neighbourhoods. Inside this treetop hideaway is a cosy living space with a sleeping loft above. This light and airy space is perfect for travellers or couples looking for a quiet retreat.

A bathroom, hot shower and sauna are just inside the house, accessible from the back door. We provide cosy slippers and bathrobes for your use. Note: The bathroom is shared but if it happens to be full, there are two others washrooms available.

There a good quality queen-sized futon mattress (new as of Dec 2015) in the sleep loft. We can add an additional futon mattress if you have a third person (or two people that wish to sleep separately). There are two new pillows, and one memory foam pillow.

Inside the cabin there is a toaster oven, a kettle, aeropress coffee machine, coffee grinder, filtered water, choice of teas, dishes and cutting board.

Guest access

Access to shared house spaces, including:
- Fully equipped kitchen including a vitamix & gas stove
- Three bathrooms and laundry
- Backyard garden
- Infrared cedar sauna
- Front porch
- Roof top deck with a beautiful view of Toronto
- Our new yoga room
- High-speed internet (wifi) that reaches the cabin
- Landline phone in the house with free long distance for North America.

Interaction with guests

Being a community house (web search "Lotusfeast"), we love meeting new people. The nice thing with the cabin being separate is that you can be involved with the main house as you please! You'd always be welcome into the shared spaces, but if it's rest and privacy you're after, there is no pressure to join us.

The neighbourhood

Our vibrant neighbourhood has bike-friendly streets, cafes, restaurants, and music venues, parks and farmers' markets. We are very close to Toronto's many festivals, events, waterfront parks and an island park you can reach by ferry.

Getting around

We are half a block from the Ossington Subway station. You can also explore Toronto easily by foot or bicycle.

Other things to note

We provide soft 100% cotton sheets dried on a clothesline. You are welcome to join us for shared meals, we just ask that you help with cooking and/or cleaning up. We have two people here that speak Romanian and Thai.

Our stay at Steve's cabin was absolutely fantastic! Steve was very kind, welcoming, and amenable, and the cabin was even more magical in person than in the photos. We ended up getting in to the city later than expected but Steve was still able to meet us and give us a tour of the cabin and the main house. Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend staying at Steve's!

This was one of the best experiences I had in Airbnb. The cottage is incredibly beautiful, confortable and peaceful. My boyfriend and I loved every minute of our time there. Everyone in the house was extremely friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. They are generous beautiful souls that made our trip to Toronto a great experience, not only because of the trip itself but also because they gave us the opportunity to become part of their community while we were there. They shared an amazing meal with us the last day, they let me use one of their bikes, discussed with us their beautiful vision of the world and recommended us incredible places to eat (including the vegetarian festival that was happening while we were there). We are grateful that we meet everyone in the house and we look forward to come back in the future! Thank you!
