About this listing

Heated cabin includes a queen-size sleep loft, toaster oven, kettle. Inside the house are 3 shared bathrooms, a veggie kitchen, yoga room, roof deck and sauna. We are an eco-friendly 8-person community house on a quiet street close to the subway.

The space

Private heated cabin behind a brick home in one of Toronto hippest neighbourhoods. Inside this treetop hideaway is a cosy living space with a sleeping loft above. This light and airy space is perfect for travellers or couples looking for a quiet retreat.

A bathroom, hot shower and sauna are just inside the house, accessible from the back door. We provide cosy slippers and bathrobes for your use. Note: The bathroom is shared but if it happens to be full, there are two others washrooms available.

There a good quality queen-sized futon mattress (new since the beginning of 2016) in the sleep loft. We can add an additional futon mattress if you have a third person (or two people that wish to sleep separately). There are two pillows, and one memory foam pillow.

Inside the cabin there is a toaster oven, a kettle, aeropress coffee machine, coffee grinder, filtered water, choice of teas, dishes and cutting board.

Guest access

Access to shared house spaces, including:
- Fully equipped kitchen including a vitamix & gas stove
- Three bathrooms and laundry
- Backyard garden
- Infrared cedar sauna
- Front porch
- Roof top deck with a beautiful view of Toronto
- Our new yoga room
- High-speed internet (wifi) that reaches the cabin
- Landline phone in the house with free long distance for North America.
Note: We may have extra bicycles to lend.

Interaction with guests

Being a community house (web search "Lotusfeast"), we love meeting new people. The nice thing with the cabin being separate is that you can be involved with the main house as you please! You'd always be welcome into the shared spaces, but if it's rest and privacy you're after, there is no pressure to join us.

Other things to note

We provide soft 100% cotton sheets dried on a clothesline. You are welcome to join us for shared meals, we just ask that you help with cooking and/or cleaning up. We often have work-exchange guests living in the house that speak other languages such as French, Italian or German.

Our stay at Steve's cabin was absolutely fantastic! Steve was very kind, welcoming, and amenable, and the cabin was even more magical in person than in the photos. We ended up getting in to the city later than expected but Steve was still able to meet us and give us a tour of the cabin and the main house. Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend staying at Steve's!
