This is a 2000 sq. ft. 2+ bedroom house built in 1959 that has original tiki interior and vintage decor. The house is great for entertaining or relaxing. Record players, records, cable, WiFi, a hot tub, and firepit are available for your enjoyment.

The space
This is a sprawling 2000 sq. ft. mid-century modern house built in 1959 with original vintage and tiki interior features including 2 bars! It is ideally situated between the village of Joshua Tree and the National Park on a paved road in a quiet neighborhood.

This house was built in 1959 with entertaining in mind and features original mid-century details and furnishings. The tiki interior and 2 separate bars set the mood for relaxing and fun-filled gatherings. There are 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms - each at opposite ends of the house. There is a king bed in the master bedroom and queen bed in the guest bedroom. There are also 2 twin beds in the family room which can serve as a 3rd bedroom for larger groups. There is a stereo with record player and Alexa in the family room. The house is basically configured as separated master and guest wings. The guest wing includes a bedroom, newly remodeled bathroom, kitchenette, and family room and has a separate entrance. The master wing includes a bedroom, dressing room with lighted make-up mirror, bathroom, pantry, full kitchen, dining area, large living room, and amazing bar between the living room and kitchen. This is a very unique house and it is particularly unusual to find a mid-century gem like this as there is little in the way of architectural homes to choose from in the Joshua Tree area. Vintage furnishings and decoration and stereos with record players and an extensive record collection allow you to immerse yourself in another time. Modern conveniences including a 55" TV with ROKU streaming service with Netflix, Sling, Prime, and Criterion Channel as well as a DVD/CD player, refrigerator with ice maker, and gas BBQ grill assure a comfortable stay. Internet is delivered via Spectrum at 100-200mbps and is quite stable. There Is also a stereo with Alexa and and 40" Roku TV and DVD/CD player in the master bedroom. There are 2 outdoor dining tables and seating for 12 on the back patio. A Swedish fire pit and lounge chairs in the back yard are great for stargazing at night. The shady front porch features a porch swing perfect for relaxing and enjoying the panoramic view.

Guest access
The property is in close proximity to both the Joshua Tree National Park and the village of Joshua Tree. The village of Joshua Tree offers a variety of great restaurant options and art galleries. Pappy & Harriets in Pioneertown is just a 20 minute drive and is not to be missed for great music and food and drink. The property features panoramic views of the mountains and village lights. The house offers a wood-burning fireplaces, 2 hammocks, outdoor dining tables with seating for 12, gas BBQ grill, Swedish fire pit, 55" TV, ROKU streaming service, wifi, and 2 vintage stereos each with record players and an extensive record collection. There is also a 40" TV with ROKU in the master bedroom. The shady front porch features a swing from which to enjoy the views. There is a new 7 person hot tub located on the back patio for soaking and stargazing at night. As such, our guests have access to a wide variety of relaxation and entertainment options during their stay.

Other things to note
If you like retro and vintage then you will love this property. It harkens back to another era - think Mad Men in the high desert - and is a perfect house for entertaining and relaxing in style.

The property is located on a paved road in a quiet neighborhood on the south side of Hwy 62 just 10 blocks away from the village of Joshua Tree and near the west entrance to the Joshua Tree National Park. Although just 2 hours drive from Los Angeles you will find Joshua Tree to be worlds away. Joshua Tree is a beautiful area that attracts artists and musicians and outdoor enthusiasts from around the world to make it their home. The community actively supports the arts and tourism and environmental issues. Visitors will find the locals to be an extremely interesting and friendly lot. The west entrance to the amazing 800,000 acre Joshua Tree National Park is just 3 miles away and the property features views of the mountains in the park. There are excellent running and hiking trails outside of the park in Joshua Highlands and Coyote Hole and Section 6 outside of the park just a short walk or drive from the property.
