Kirkland Cabin - Stay in a 1907 Log Cabin Perched on the Palisades of The Kentucky River in Lexington. One King Bedroom and fun loft offering 2 single beds (ladder access) & 1 full bath. This is a cabin built in 1907 & has the character to prove it. Unplug with games or utilize High speed WiFi. This cabin is 1 mile from I-75 & 15 minutes to downtown Lexington. Enjoy dinner < 1 mile away at Proud Marys BBQ w/ Live music.

The space
Hvac, windows, and kitchen flooring recently replaced. This is an original rustic log cabin built-in 1907. There are multiple steps to approach the front door and steps from the kitchen to the main living area and bedroom. The loft is only accessed with a ladder so experience cabin living like Laura Ingles. For little guests, the host can provide a toddler bed or bassinet upon request. Check-in is easy with a digital smart lock. For safety, the fireplace has an electric insert with heat and an ambient flame and is controlled by a remote. The river is easier to see in the winter when trees are not in bloom. Otherwise, views are limited from the cabin. If nature and being and the wilderness is not your thing then this is probably not the experience you’re hoping for. It’s is recommended to wear bug spray anywhere around the cabin in the summer because the river, humidity, and warm conditions bring out the mosquitoes.

Where you’ll be

Lexington, Kentucky, United States

The dead end street which follows the river is lined with homes similar to the cabin. They were built years ago. The single lane road is somewhat hidden and in the summer when the trees are in bloom they make a canopy over the street. The location is Minutes from local wineries, live music on the river, zip lining and kayaking the River. A 15 minute drive to downtown Lexington and the Kentucky Horse Park

We are born and raised Kentuckians. Laura grew up in Lexington and Chris grew up in a town adjacent to the Red a River Gorge. We raise our family on a little farm close to the cabin in south Lexington. Our hobby farm is just for fun but we have horses, goats, chickens, 2 livestock dogs and an indoor cat named Cathy. Chris is a local youth pastor and Laura is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Kentucky. We love the cabin because it is so peaceful to get away from our busy lives and visit the quiet street where is seems time stands still.
