The space
Hi there! We are two people who enjoy a contemplative lifestyle. We invite others who want a temporary retreat from their daily lives to join us for a few days of fresh air, silence and nature.
To support your retreat here on the property, we maintain an environment of quiet, independent study, meditation and reflection.
The property borders park trails for direct access to hiking through trails running throughout the island.
Bring your books, your writing, your art supplies, some comfortable clothes and spend a few days relaxing and recharging here on Bowen Island.

SHARED SPACES: Along with your Private Cabin and Patio, you have access to a shared dining area, bathroom, meditation studio, hot tub.
ENVIRONMENT: We maintain a contemplative environment by adhering to silence in all shared spaces, allowing for people to get away from the hustle of the busy life and immerse themselves in their own personal retreat. No one has to worry about making small-talk with others. We all work and play silently alongside one another. We ask our guests to assist in maintaining this environment.
MEDITATION: The meditation studio is open for your use. It's free anytime outside of the scheduled meditation times which happen twice a day and which you are welcome to join.
HOT TUB: We provide bathrobes , slip-on shoes and towels so that you can head out to the hot tub to sit underneath the open sky. Hot tub is open year round.
BATHROOMS:There is a half bath on the main floor of the house and a full bath on the second floor. The Cedar Cabin is about 100 feet from the house. The upstairs bathroom is for use only during daytime hours .
MEALS: We offer coffee, tea, baked bread or biscuits, eggs and jam laid out between 8:30 - 10am. You can eat the kitchen or take a tray to your cabin.
For the rest of the day, you are welcome to bring prepared meals that can be stored in the fridge and warmed by microwave, hotplate or kettle.
Full kitchen access is not available.
Restaurants are not within walking distance. You would need to take the bus to the cove, or drive.
TRAILS: We are on the border of parkland trails which are clearly marked. Rain or shine, you can take long walks through the beautiful forested lands .
Other things to note
Please read! These are more like warnings :)
1. You must walk to the house to use the bathroom., about 100 feet or so. There is no bathroom in the cabin itself. Your cabin has a double bed, desk, Wi-Fi access, a personal patio area with table and chairs but no bathroom in the cabin.
2. The Doorway entering the cabin is about 5'6" high, so you may have to bend when you exit the cabin.
3. We do not have laundry facilities for guest use.
4. We live on a hillside. The walk to the house off the main drive is 300 metres uphill. So, if you are not driving please take that into consideration.
5. We live in a rural neighbourhood and so you will hear the neighbours from time to time and you may hear occasional vehicles or dogs.
6. We have two friendly dogs (beagles) and a cat. They don't go in the cabins, but if you're uncomfortable around animals you probably won't want to book here.
