Charlies Cabin is just a 10 minute drive from the heart of Sooke. Set on a peaceful acreage with beautiful trail views, guests are welcome to walk the path behind the cabin and explore the rear of the property. Located along Sooke Road, it offers easy access to restaurants, shops, and beaches while still feeling tucked away in nature. The cabin also features an indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit for cozy evenings.

The space
Welcome to Charlie’s Cabin, your cozy home away from home nestled among the peaceful surroundings of Vancouver Island’s West Coast charm. From the moment you arrive, the space invites you to slow down and settle in. Start your morning with a fresh cup of coffee, spend the day exploring the area, and wind down in the evening by the indoor fireplace or outside at the fire pit under the stars with s’mores and good company.

Inside you’ll find books and local guides filled with our favourite nearby beaches, trails, cafés, and hidden gems. The TV is equipped with a Fire Stick so you can enjoy Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ or log into your own streaming services. We also keep a large collection of board and card games for all ages, perfect for a relaxed night in.

Upstairs there’s a dedicated kids play area with toys, colouring supplies, and their own TV, giving little ones a space to enjoy.
The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances, cookware, and the essentials to prepare yummy meals during your stay.

We are a local family run bnb and also operate Owl Grove, a wedding venue here on the acreage. If you’re interested in hosting an event, please contact us directly through the Owl Grove website for all venue inquiries.

Cleanliness, comfort, and a welcoming atmosphere are always our priority, and we’re nearby should you need anything to make your stay even better.

Guest access
You will have private access to the entire cabin and the surrounding guest yard area. You’re welcome to enjoy the walking trails on the property, including the path leading toward the back where you can view Owl Grove. We simply ask that everyone watches their footing, supervises children, and treats the land with care.

Owl Grove is our family’s wedding venue, and during parts of the high season the cabin calendar may appear blocked off on Airbnb while events are scheduled. During your stay there are typically no weddings or gatherings taking place, and the space is yours to enjoy peacefully.

We care deeply for this land and actively replant saplings to support the forest’s growth, so the property is not suitable for foraging or harvesting. The 20 acres are home to plenty of wildlife, and you may see deer, rabbits, squirrels, our resident owls, and many other birds during your visit.

Parking is available on site. RVs and trailers are not permitted unless arranged with us in advance. We also do not have EV charging on site, but we’re happy to direct you to nearby charging locations, including the 17 Mile Park & Ride and other stations in the area.

Our family lives on the other side of the property. We respect your privacy but are nearby if you need anything during your stay.

Other things to note
Charlie’s Cabin is located just off the main road into Sooke. You may occasionally hear passing traffic, though most guests find it minimal and appreciate the easy access to town, as well as nearby Langford and Victoria.

The cabin is easily accessible with no steep hills or difficult roads. There is covered parking available, along with ample space around the cabin including a roundabout and convenient access to the main side entrance.

While this isn’t a remote “cabin deep in the woods,” it offers the best of both worlds, simple access and the ability to step right into nature whenever you like. The cabin sits on the front portion of our acreage beside a walking trail, and the back of the property opens to peaceful natural views perfect for exploring and relaxing.

You may notice a few ongoing land projects as we continue caring for the property, as well as a small vintage vehicle area with a few classic cars from the 1950s tucked away on a tiny section of the land.

If you enjoy sunsets, natural surroundings, and the character of wood built spaces, Charlie’s Cabin might be the perfect fit for your stay.
