Recently renovated cottage on a working livestock farm, this riverside abode offers the perfect place to peacefully unwind.
The Lake District, Solway Coast, Hadrians Wall and the Scottish Borders are within easy reach, with Junction 44 of the M6 being only 5 minutes drive east.
Local fishing and shooting can be organised (I have fishing rights to the River Lyne running through my farm also and a outdoor country pursuits store is located it at the very end of my drive!). This

The space
By prior arrangement, the super king bed can be split into two singles if preferred.

The cottage has a designated garden which looks onto the River Lyne, and cattle pastures further afield. On warmer days, its an ideal place to sit, relax, eat and drink!

If you're intending to fish as part of your stay, please do let me know when you book, as I'll be able to advise you on more specific details of the accommodation, and area more generally that will help better tailor your trip. The 1.5 miles stretch is not a major game river and is strictly 'catch and release'. Sea Trout and Brown Trout are the predominant species found here. Otters, Waterfowl and Kingfishers are a regular sighting also!

The local town, Longtown, is less than five minutes away by car. A Grocery shop, Butchers, Bakers, Fruit, Vegetable and Garden centre, Hardware store and Cafe are all available. The city of Carlisle and Gretna Gateway Outlet Village, both within 10 minutes of the cottage offer a large range of retail options.

I have listed the cottage as "no-pets" because of the light interior. However, by prior arrangement, I can offer an outside space, such as the stable (opposite the cottage) if you're keen to bring your dog(s).

Visiting the Cumbrian Countryside often means you will need outdoor clothing, and maybe other types of outdoor gear. Whilst there is storage space in the cottage for such items, this is limited. If you do require space to hang/store outdoor clothing, please let me know and i'll do my very best to accommodate.

Guest access
The cottage has its own car parking area, and accessible through it's own front door.

Other things to note
Although I do not think this will impact upon your stay, tractor, machinery and livestock "noise" is inevitable because the cottage is located on a working farm.

I've always been a farmer, and recently moved to this farm only a couple of years ago. I have cows, and sometimes sheep on the farm. Pip, the collie is particularly friendly and always loves meeting new people. The cottage has been designed for those who like to enjoy quiet rural stays, within easy access of necessary amenities.
