You’ll have the cottage to yourself.
Former farmhouse in the heart of the Westerwald with a charming garden. A retreat to relax and a starting point for hikes. Close to the medieval town of Hachenburg. The almost 100 year old house still contains many original elements, such as the old floorboards and is equipped with all the technology to make a relaxing stay pleasant. A small pond and 2 terraces invite you to barbecue and relax.

The space
In the outer shell of today's family house hides the original house of a small farm, built in 1922. Stable and barn were removed in the following years. The object as a corner property has very little contact with the neighbourhood. From the south-facing terrace at the small garden pond, one has a view of the natural garden, which is enclosed by a hedge. The tree population on the property and in the neighbourhood offers a natural view protection. Sunny days can be enjoyed undisturbed on one of the rustic terraces. Or sit together comfortably for a barbecue. On warm summer nights you can relax in the evening at the small pond and watch the flight paths of the bats. During the day fish, amphibians, dragonflies and co. fascinate in the small oasis. Or the colourful butterflies in the herb garden.

History:
In 1922, the farmer, butcher and carpenter Gustav Meutsch laid the foundation for the present building. A single-storey small farmhouse with adjoining stable and barn was built. The small cottage was largely built for the young family on their own initiative. Bad times, inflation, scarcity of building material shaped the time. Nevertheless, the skilful craftsman Gustav Meutsch mastered this challenge and created a roof over his head and the basis for a small farming business for his family of three. In the thirties, more space was needed for the second and third child and so the house was extended and grew to its present size. During World War II the rooms on the first floor were confiscated and converted for army workshops. For example, a shoemaker's workshop was located on the left-hand side. After the war several families with small children had to share the house as living space.

In the basement and on the ground floor much of the old structure of the one-storey farmhouse cottage has been preserved. It has been carefully fitted with modern technology and equipped with everything that makes temporary living pleasant.
