Hello + welcome! Before you put in a request, know that this is a homestead. Provide a bit about yourself, what you would want to know about someone coming to stay in your home. Our home is in a 20 acre forest on top of a mountain. It is a good half way stop, from Vancouver to Calgary, or Edmonton for those travelling by car. We are about 15 minutes away fom the town of Falkland. We have 2 dogs and a guinea pig living inside the house, and llamas, chickens and cats outside.
Pets are welcome.

The space
The kitchen and bathroom are shared. You are welcome to watch TV in the living room upstairs or cook your meal if you wish.
Go for a walk and relax in the forest. You might see deer and birds.
Hunting is allowed only with a bow. No guns.
We are a non-smoking family but you can smoke outside.
Home made breakfast is included in the price. Please let us know if you have any food allergies.

Guest access
Your room is on the main floor, close to the main entrance, and side entrance. The bathroom is right beside it. The kitchen is on the same floor. You can exit to the backyard from the kitchen. All 3 doors are open. The entrances are not wheelchair accessible, but we will work on that.

Other things to note
Vernon is the closest city and it is a 50 minute drive away.
Kamloops is 1.5 hours away by car.
Our location is not suitable for a sedan or 2WD vehicle during the winter because the snow might not be cleared from the roads on time for you to get through. There is snow on the ground from the beginning of November until March.
Ukulele lake and Pillar Lake are great for boating and fishing. Pillar Lake Resort has boat rentals during the warm season.

We are located close to Pillar Lake which is great for fishing all year. There are always someone ice fishing in the winter too. A 10 minute walk from the lake will take you to the only Hoodoo in this area. It’s a great space to take photos. Crown land is behind us and can be used to ride your ATV or snowmobile if you bring one.
Falkland has a few restaurants and a pub, and a well stocked general/grocery store open every day all day long. Come and visit at the stampede on the Victoria day weekend. Falkland hosts one of the oldest stampedes in the area.

We are a family of 4 living in beautiful rural BC in a forest on top of a mountain. We enjoy nature and company, and we would like to share the experience. We play board games in the evenings (not monopoly).
During your stay
We are available most of the time as we work from the home office or outside, but we are quiet. If you need anything, you can easily find us on the property.
