Neighbourhood highlights

Lori’s place is located in Alberni-Clayoquot C, British Columbia, Canada.
The key attraction at Mussel Beach is the wildlife and relaxation . Also we are close to The Pacific Rim Park and the miles of beaches with in the park. There is also lots of hiking in the area along with wild life tours, fishing charter and of course surfing. Mt Ozzard is only 4km which has great trails for mountain biking. Tofino and Ucluelet have great restaurants and small shops . Both towns have a Grocery Store , Pharmacy and gas stations for basic needs. Mussel Beach is a 20-30 minute drive to Ucluelet , 45 minutes to Long Beach and an hour to Tofino. You need to have a vehicle to get to us as there is no public transit that will come out to our remote location. We also recommend a vehicle with some clearance is needed to make the journey down the logging road. To get to Pacific Rim area it is a 3 hour trip from Nanaimo and 5 hour trip from Victoria. We also recommend that you make a BC ferry reservation if coming from the mainland. Highway 4 is also under major construction and there is road closures this summer. For more information you can check out DriveBC.
We also recommend buying the bulk of your food in Nanaimo or Port Alberni as the stores in Ucluelet and Tofino can be expensive.

My husband Curtis and I run a Wilderness campground during the summer season on Vancouver Island . We live in an off grid cabin within the campground and enjoy sharing our little piece of paradise with our guest. We have 5 grown children and 3 grandchildren. In the off season we enjoy traveling . We prefer road trips and like to book as we go so we are free to change our plans as opportunities arise. We enjoy getting to know people along the way and experiencing different ways of life. We are "stop and smell the roses" kind of people.
