The space
》1 Rooms is loft space open to the living room below

》The basement is unfinished, but we do have mangled darts and a half decent foosball table.

》There are lots of flies and mosquitoes outside in the summer

》Rodents will run in the house if doors are left open. (On going issue on the mountain. If you have a phobia of mice, the mountain may not be for you.)

》Slippery conditions in the winter season. Snow tires and chains are highly recommended. The road up has signs stating that it is a requirement to carry chains. All roads and driveways in Hemlock are gravel which cannot be salted. Also salt would not be effective with the amount of snow we receive.

》To use BBQ: turn "Fire Magic" valve knob located on BBQ face.

Other things to note
! Please be advised that there are currently no nearby emergency services in Hemlock Valley. The nearest Hospital to Hemlock Valley is Chilliwack General Hospital and it is a 1 hour and 6 minute drive in ideal conditions. If you have any severe allergy or illnesses that has the potential for you to need an ambulance or medical assistance, Hemlock Valley may not be a safe destination for you.

! The Road up is mostly gravel, it is very steep with hairpin turns. Heavy towing could be difficult if you are inexperienced. Any vehicle in good repair can drive up and down the road without issue; however, the hairpin turns and steep incline is not for everyone.

》Hemlock is a Rural Mountain Village, it is not uncommon to see mice or evidence of mice. We perform weekly pest control checks.

》We get lots of Snow from Nov-Apr. It can snow several feet in a day. The driveway can be cleared of snow in the morning and there could be some accumulation by the time you arrive in the evening. The best we can do is keep the driveway clear enough to park in, but you will certainly need snow tires. M+S tires with 4 a wheel drive vehicle is usually fine. It will be slippery and there is nothing that can be done about it. Salt is only effective for small amounts of ice and we are not allowed to use salt on gravel roads or driveways for environmental reasons. Sand is also not feasible because it would be covered in snow daily. You can get very cheap rubber and spike traction slip-ons for your footwear from most dollar stores.

》 Very slippery conditions during winter. Spiked foot ware recommended. Salt, and gravel are not effective in our conditions (we get too much snow and ice to keep up with).
