Welcome to The Nest at Robins Roost, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals.

The Nest at Robins Roost is a delightful Cotswold stone property which sleeps two guests, in a contemporary bedroom, with a stylish bathroom. Forming the first floor of a converted barn within the grounds of Robins Roost, this country bolthole has been finished to a high standard with a warm and inviting interior and an array of modern facilities including wireless internet access, a Smart TV and a well-equipped kitchen. There is a charming designated outdoor seating area with fabulous rural views and an off-street parking space for one car is available on the shared driveway.

The Nest is peacefully situated in the heart of the unspoilt village of Little Rissington, a traditional village surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are many pleasant walks and cycle routes on its doorstep to discover, including scenic footpaths to the neighbouring villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, The Slaughters and Great Rissington, the latter being home to The Lamb Inn, a popular 14th century pub which serves delicious local food and offers views across the Windrush Valley.

Little Rissington is well-placed for exploring the many picturesque towns and villages of the North Cotswolds including Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, Burford and Bourton-on-the-Water. Bourton, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the low arched bridges that cross over the River Windrush, has a number of pubs, restaurants, tearooms and shops to enjoy, as well as popular tourist attractions such as Birdland, The Model Village and the Cotswold Motoring and Toy Museum. Further afield destinations such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford and Bath are also within easy reach for day trips.Welcome to Something Cottage, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals.

The space
The Nest is the perfect spot for a romantic getaway in the heart of the Cotswold countryside. Stone steps lead up from the carport to the front door which opens into the living area:

Kitchen/dining room/living room: This bright and contemporary open plan living area has wonderful countryside views and is a cosy home away from home. It contains an electric oven with four-ring induction hob, a fridge with small freezer compartment, dishwasher, microwave, cafetière, kettle and toaster. There is a fold out counter for additional food preparation space, a DAB radio with Bluetooth connection, a fold away dining table which comfortably seats two guests, a two-seater sofa, small footstool and Smart TV;
Bedroom: This beautifully presented dual aspect bedroom contains a king size bed, chest of drawers and clothes rail;
Bathroom: The smart, modern bathroom contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet, wash basin and heated towel rail.

At the bottom of the entrance steps there is a designated gravel patio area with a bistro table and seating for two, perfect for al fresco dining in the warmer weather. From here there are stunning rural views across the grounds of Robins Roost, grounds comprising large lawns, mature trees and a tranquil pond. The garden is primarily for the use of the main house, however guests are welcome to explore at their leisure. Please note that the pond is unfenced and that dogs must be kept on a lead when in the grounds as there could be young children or other dogs in the vicinity.

There is an allocated parking space for one car on the shared driveway.

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
