Beautiful area
Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Step back in time. Experience living in a one room cabin heated by a wood stove and lit by candles and lanterns. Your bathroom is an outhouse. There is no running water or electricity.
You can ski, snowshoe or hike on the 40 acre property. Also, within minutes of the cabin are numerous trail systems, lakes and beaches.
If you want to go further back in time, you can visit our 1700’s settler’s cabin. Check out our YouTube channel, “The Woodland Escape”
The space
There is a pond for skating on, or swimming when conditions allow. There is also fishing and swimming on numerous lakes within easy driving distance. Firewood is provided. Cooking can be done on a propane, two burner stove in the cabin or on a propane bbq. There is no electricity or running water. Drinking water and water for washing dishes is provided. You should also note that there is no wifi or cell service. However, texting seems to work (mostly). And we provide a solar powered charger for your devices and a single led light.
In addition to normal COVID protocols, the windows and door are opened and the cabin is thoroughly aired between guests.
Other things to note
We have just built a gravel road and parking pad so that you can park within 10 meters of the cabin. The parking is not visible from the cabin, so as not to destroy the ambiance.
If you have children or more than 2 in your group, we can provide 2 cots. There is also space to put up a tent, if you prefer. You will have to provide your own camping gear. Bear in mind that this is a small cabin. It will be tight with more than 2 people.
Pets are welcome.
The outdoor shower is only available from mid May to mid October.
