Our bespoke, family/pet friendly Shepherd Hut has everything you need for your remote staycation. Badgers Hut is toasty all year round, thanks to its charming log burning stove and wool installation. There is a gas BBQ with shelter and decking area, complete with seating and utensils for you to cook while taking in the breath-taking views. As you are perfectly isolated on the edge of the farm hill, the only neighbours you will have to worry about are the sheep or cattle quietly grazing.

The space
Badgers Den is the latest addition to Greenhill Farm, deriving its name from the badger sett that lives at the top of the hill. Designed and hand-built by a local craftsman, this spacious Shepherd Hut can sleep up to four people, holding a double bed and a second room with bunk bed. Everything in the hut has been fashioned using various trees that were grown, milled and crafted in Perthshire such as; Oak, Scots Pine, Douglas fir, Ash, Larch and Leyland Cypress.

You can immerse yourself in the beautiful countryside, while in the comforts of your own home. The hut is fully equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay away; a charming wood burning stove (logs and fire lighters included), rechargeable and battery-operated lights, black-out blinds, board games, Bluetooth radio and pull-down breakfast bar.

There is an enclosed private garden, as we can’t have your four-legged friends left behind. Within the area, there is a gas barbeque, complete with seating and utensils. It is set on a raised decking with a wooden shelter for protection from the unpredictable Scottish weather, perfect for cooking your fry up in the morning while taking in the spectacular year-round view. On site there is also a custom-made hut with toilet facilities; having a perspex roof allows light in and to view the trees above.

Our farm setting is perfect for a digital detox and carrying out activities such as walking and cycling, it can provide a peaceful retreat to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Due to its complete seclusion, there is no running water or electricity at the site. Nevertheless, they can be found on the main farmyard, just a short walk down the hill, guests will have access to their own flushing toilet and hot water shower along with charging points for phones.

Water is supplied, suitable for drinking, washing, etc. We only allow one dog per stay, (two depending on size.) If you do want to bring your four-legged friend along please contact us to make prior arrangements, there will be a £10 charge.

As our Shepherd hut is totally secluded and off grid, there is no electricity within the hut. Instead there are chargeable bedside lights, torches, and LED candles for the total glamping experience. Located in a central point there is electricity sockets for the convenience of all guests to charge their devices.

We offer a dog and child friendly environment by providing a private enclosed garden area. However, as we are a working farm, we do ask that you supervise children and dogs at all times and have dogs on leads when exploring out of the private garden area, for both their safety and that of livestock.

I am 25 years old and a graduate of Product Design. I currently live on my families farm with my parents, we opened our Glamping business as we want to share our farm farming experience with others. As well as living and working on the farm, I have a part time job elsewhere. My passions are animal care and our Glamping business - making sure guests enjoy their off grid digital detox experience.
