Unwind at this secluded idyllic retreat nestled quietly at the end of a wooded country road, along a rolling creek. This 170-year-old cabin was originally two cabins erected in the 1850s. In the 1970s, artist Jim Simon dismantled the log cabins (taking care to label each log) and re-erected them on the Simon Family Farm in Pendleton County. Red Fox Ridge was named for the red fox sometimes spotted running the ridge overlooking the river. Lots of history to be shared and made! Come stay a while.

The space
The cabin offers modern amenities and has plenty of room to sleep 15 comfortably. Two queen beds, one double bed, two twin beds, one trundle twin, one full futon, one full sofa bed, two sofas (one has two recliners); two full baths, one with a Jacuzzi tub and one with a shower. Our galley-style kitchen boasts room to prepare any meal for all occasions. TV, WiFi, and laundry facilities. Guests are welcome to walk the area surrounding the cabin and make s'mores at the fire pit to experience the true serenity of country living.

Guest access
Entire cabin and surrounding grounds.

Other things to note
Red Fox Ridge is under new management - we're keeping it in the family. :) If you've stayed at Red Fox Ridge before, we would love to host you again!

We hold ourselves to very high standards of service, quality and cleanliness. We meticulously change linens, clean and sanitize all surfaces, counters, kitchen and bathroom facilities, and sweep and mop floors between every guest booking (and available to do so periodically during longer stays). We pay particular attention to sanitizing all high-touch surfaces to avoid the spread of germs and bacteria (like light and lamp switches, door knobs, handles, faucets, etc.).

We follow Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol, which was developed with expert guidance. Here are a few highlights:

We sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob
We use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination
We clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists
We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay
We comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines

The Bradford/Simon Family Farm was established in 1815, and six generations since have lived on the farm continuously, raising cash crops and livestock like hogs and milk cows. While portions of the farm have been sold over the years, the family retains 300 acres of the original land claim. This acreage includes several fields which the family currently lease to local farmers. It is also home to healthy centuries-old hardwood forests which the family is committed to conserving.
