THE LOCATION
The Alpinist is a hotel situated in the cold desert of Western Himalayas- Kaza in Spiti valley. Kaza, a small mountain town, is one of the least populated regions of India. At the elevation of 12500 feet (3800m ) above sea level Kaza is the sub divisional head (capital) of Spiti Valley. The hotel is located in the main market of Kaza which is walking distance from the bus stand.
The Alpinist is surrounded by breathtaking sceneries from every side.

The Front side view
The entrance of the hotel faces the town and provides and an excellent view of some bright, colorful structures at the backdrop of barren earthy mountains. The houses, roads and bridges are normally decorated with the colourful flags that hold a high importance in Spiti religion. The town with little population of Spiti people is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get close to mountain people and look into their culture and lifestyle. Kaza is famous for its colourful festivals.

The Back side view
The backside view of the hotel starts with fields where locals grow cereals and vegetables in the summer season. Also, one can find grasslands in the close proximity where hundreds of livestock of goats and sheep could be found grazing. The fields end at the serpentine Spiti river which flows ferociously with blue water coming directly from the glaciers of the nearby mountains. The beauty of the river is enhanced by the steep erection of mighty mountains along its unending banks. The snow covered mountains underneath the bright blue sky makes you feel awestruck by the magnificence of the nature.

THE ACCESSIBILITY
Kaza is surrounded by high mountains from every side and is accessible from Kinnaur valley and Lahaul valley. The route from Kinnaur valley starts from Shimla and traverse along the Beas river till Poo. Then it takes the route along the Spiti river to reach Kaza. This route is open through out the year.
The second route starts from Manali. It crosses two of the Highest passes of India. First Rohtang pass at the elevation of 13090 feet which leads to Gramphoo. From Gramphoo we take south of Chandra river and reach Batal. The road from Batal takes a steep accent and lead to the mighty Kunzum Pass at the elevation of 14928 feet. From here we enter the Spiti valley and reach Kaza
