The best thing about this Airbnb is Olga! She was so sweet to us throughout our stay and so patient in helping us when we got lost. The location is very rustic and if you love rustic antiques, you will find many interesting things to see among the rooms! One big surprise was that we asked Olga where we might visit an olive farm and buy some local olive oil. Come to find out, she and her husband own and olive farm. We didn't get to visit it, because we were leaving that day, but we tasted the oil and bought some that she will be shipping for us. She made us the most lovely breakfast with a torte that she made. She also served us a fruit that I had never had before, called Nespoli. It is from a tree right on location. There are also fig trees in the (URL HIDDEN) favorite...but they were not ripe when we were there. The gardens are lush and have so many different plants and flowers! Thank you, Olga!

CASA AnticaMenta was such a delight, as were the owners Olga and Carmelo. We were shown exceptional hospitality which included a tour to Pietraperzia on Good Friday to experience the religious celebrations. The house is truly amazing. It has been beautifully and sympathetically restored and furnished to capture the essence of the 300 year old stone house. Renovations include large French doors leading into the garden from the living and dining rooms and kitchen, providing both lots of natural light and views of the garden. The rooms are large yet cosy, and the house is quiet and comfortable. Olga and Carmelo arrived each morning to prepare us breakfast. The house is close to Pietraperzia and it is not far to the Roman mosaics. We are already thinking of coming back Pietraperzia to spend a week...a gem. Catherine and Tim

Olga and Carmelo were wonderful! They were so gracious and made us feel like we were family for our 2 night stay. We were given maps, books and suggestions on what to see in the area. They invited us to dinner with some their friends, hosted in their home. Olga is a wonderful cook. They took us on a tour of Pietraperzia, showing us the Cathedral and Castle and even took us for drinks and conversation at a friend's house. They made a bunch of phone calls to arrange for a private tour of the historical sites in the city (not normally open to tourists). They even showed us a video of the Easter celebration and another on the region. Olga and Carmelo went above and beyond host/hostess responsibilities to make our trip memorable. Hosts immediately sent us a text about our arrival. Met us and led us to the house, gave us a tour and provided all necessities. The house and gardens were beautiful. They have put a lot of work into restoring their 17th century home. It is a truly unique and comfortable home. I would highly recommend this booking to anyone interested getting a taste of Sicilian culture. Thank you Olga and Carmelo for making our stay something we will be telling our friends and family about for many years.

Yes, yes and absolutely YES!! Casa Anticamenta was a unique experience that has been imprinted in my memory forever. Equally memorable will be our hosts Olga and husband Carmelo, ever so kind helpful, as was their 1700's fully restored home, and oh-so-lush and heavenly peaceful location. Our hosts were instantly welcoming and emphasized that at Anticamenta we were at home. This was proven throughout our 2 week stay. Olga was attentive to providing a beautifully set up breakfast every morning the minute we came down in he morning with flaky fresh "cornetto" (Italian breakfast pastry) that Carmelo would go pick up early every morning. Before leaving on our excursions, they would carefully go over what routes were best and what spots not to miss in each location, and reminded us they were a phone call away in case of emergency. One day, they ran out to search for two other guests who were not only lost but had gotten a flat tire and damaged rim! The expedition took four hours. They came back late at night, full of car grease yet very satisfied with even more relieved two new guests. I can go on and on about this amazing couple and about the love, yes, love they put into what they do. I would want to describe this painstakingly restored country home surrounded by hundreds of trees and many cozy sitting/reading/sipping sitting spots under the shade (my favorite was wherever I could see their two little kitties lazing in the warm sun). Yes, I could go on and on, but I'll say this from the bottom of my heart: Thank you, Olga and Carmelo. Grazie di tutto! We will be back soon. Arrivederci, amici!

A piece of paradise in the heart of Sicily! The house is clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated: filled with photo's, paintings and other little "treasures". The garden is amazing with lots of beautiful places to sit and relax. Most important: Olga and Marcello were great hosts. From guiding us to their house and welcoming us with a cup of coffee, to making reservations for a good restaurant, Olga and Marcello went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. They prepared us a nice Italian breakfast each day and Olga made us a very tasteful lunch. Wish we could have lunch like that every day! Olga and Marcello also had plenty of good and useful suggestions for places to visit and things to see and do. Thank you Olga and Marcello for taking such good care of us. We would love to visit you again in the future and highly recommend staying at AnticaMenta!

Wow!! From the very beginning we were welcomed by Olga and Carmelo like old friends. Their place is perfectly located in the heart of Sicily, so you can easily explore each direction. During our stay and with lots of tips (and directions... Sicily can be tricky to navigate even with a GPS in the car), we took day trips to Mazzarino, Piazza Amerina, Syracuse, Catania and Palermo. We received suggestions of places to visit, places to eat and swim! Olga even organised for her friends to show us around Mazzarino and Palermo- we don't usually like guides because we're well-travelled, but being given insights into these places by real locals was very special. Olga and Carmelo were so generous and hospitable, we urge you to visit for a true sense of Sicilian hospitality. Their home and gardens are beautiful and immaculate. The home had the perfect style- rustic, country home, but with every comfort you want. Our bedroom had air-con but the breeze in the evening sufficed us perfectly. They offered and cooked for us, looking after my special dietary needs as I'm a vegetarian... And every meal was fresh and delicious! Every little detail was perfect... Fresh towels every day, lovely local pastries for breakfast. Our stay not only exceeded our expectations but is our favourite Airbnb experience so far.... You should definitely include a stay in your Sicilian itinerary! We look forward to our return visit.

Our stay at this unique place was our absolute Highlight on our Trip through Sicily. Olga and Carmelo are very friendly, uncomplicated and helpful hosts who let you instantly feel at home. Olga's great cooking skills have to be recommended here. The huge garden is fantastic and the house is ideal to make trips to Piazza Armerina, Agrigento or Enna. Would go back at any time

Hi, my name is Elena. I trained as a psychologist and I hand-make dolls as a passion. During university I was sharing a large house and when my flat-mates decided to leave, instead of finding a new home, I decided to find new friends, welcoming guests from all over the world! Given my love of meeting new people, over time accommodation management has become my main occupation.
I look after a number of second homes for friends who prefer not to leave them empty when they are away. Furthermore, this year a group of friends and I have set up a cooperative, SpazioLibero Community, to help local authorities manage confiscated properties. Now we have more houses for visitors to come and stay in and so hope to also create some work opportunities for young people in this beautiful but difficult land that is Sicily. The online response we’ve received has been really positive, which is very rewarding! Please carefully read the detailed descriptions of the various lodgings on offer and try to always leave reviews that may help us improve and enlarge our “family”, it's a good way to say thanks for the hospitality.
Looking forward to welcoming you,
Elena and the SpazioLibero Community.
