About this listing
My house is in a beautiful garden with direct access to an off-road greenway for walking and cycling, yet with sea, pubs and restaurants within 200 metres. On a quiet cul-de-sac off Westport Quay, we offer you a peaceful base from which to explore.
The location is wonderful, peaceful and quiet yet within a stroll of pubs and restaurants. At the end of the drive is the sea, and 100m away is Westport Quay, a vibrant and busy part of Westport, voted the best town to live in Ireland. Bike hire and sea kayak tours are just round the corner.
Westport House is close by and there is direct access to the Westport Greenway from my garden. The garden is open to the public occasionally as part of the Clew Bay Garden Trail.
I am offering a ground floor double room with a double bed, a small en-suite WC, sink and shower. There are venetian blinds and curtains on the double glazed windows.
A range of continental breakfast foods and tea / coffee will be provided each morning.
There is parking space for your car and covered storage for bicycles.
Guests will have access to the garden and patios, to covered bike storage and to the kitchen (morning only), conservatory and bathroom. I have plenty of maps and local information and would be happy to help you make the most of your visit.
If you need to dry off your wet weather gear, that can be done. Swimming and surf wear can also be dried and storage provided for surf boards.
There is plenty of private parking right at the door.
Interaction with guests
I will be living at the house while you are here and will be happy to help you have a great holiday. I will be proud to show you round my garden and to help you get around the area. I am a native of Westport and enjoy walking, swimming and kayaking and have a wealth of local knowledge to answer any questions you might have.
If you are a gardener I would love to share some plants with you!

I'm a compulsive gardener and couldn't live an indoor life. I'm pretty self-contained and enjoy my own company as well as that of others. I like slow-moving French films, looking at plant catalogues and follow politics. I'm a radio junkie and listen to talk radio and podcasts all the time. I would like to travel more, but I've been to many European countries.
