The Local Yokel is in a rural setting, amongst other homes with small farms, and a southern way of life, yet very close to all you need in Hickory (Right off of HWY 321). Set in the country, it is connected to a triplex apartment building on a dead end road. The apartment has been entirely refinished on the inside with all new kitchen, stainless steel appliances, updated bathroom and combines contemporary with shabby chic.

The space
A dirt drive with some gravel allows for large parking area right in front of the Local Yokel. Two small decks with 2-3 steps to enter into either the front or back door. What the outside of the Local Yokel lacks, you will find the inside makes up for. Two comfortable sitting areas in the kitchen, there are two bar stools and a table with two chairs. A futon in the living space offers another sleeping option as well as a full size inflatable mattress. Easy access to the home with August locks, allows the guest to have their own access code or to use their phone to gain access to the home.

We have been married for 12 years. We have three beautiful children, two girls and a boy. We moved to North Carolina from NY 6 years ago to pursue our dreams of real estate investing and living somewhere with not so much snow! We began our Humble Abode Homes business in 2018 for our airbnbs and other holding properties. This has allowed us to spend our work and play time together as a family. We ALL, help with restoring, decorating and maintaining the homes. Even the kiddos help! We homeschool them and we feel that part of life is learning about business and how it works. We take great pride in offering homes that are affordable, comfortable, clean, well maintained and mostly have the feel of "home". When we are not working on our business, or Mom is not working as a nurse, We love to go hiking, Swimming, visit local festivals, shop farmers markets, and generally just continue to explore NC. We invite you to do the same while visiting in our home. We have provided a list of some of our favorite hiking areas, as well as Restaurants to try out.
