Private, architecturally designed 1224 sq ft guesthouse perched on the edge of a moss covered bluff in the open arbutus and fir canopy. Intimate views of the surrounding forest as well as the rugged BC coast. A graceful butterfly roofline and floor-to-ceiling windows reinforce the Aerie’s transparency and emphasize it’s connection with nature. Unlimited high speed Internet.

Halfmoon Bay, British Columbia, Canada

Halfmoon Bay is one of the smaller communities on the Coast, but boasts some of the most stunning coastline and beach access points. The Aerie is virtually next door to Sargeant Bay Provincial Park a locals favourite for hanging out, swimming, beachcombing, paddling, picnicking, fishing or nature viewing.

The area also houses a plethora of mountain biking/hiking trails that offer something for everyone – from kids to pros – to rave about. Take your family or your buddies – or just yourself! – through the beautiful trail systems and ride/ramble for as long as your heart desires!

Welcome Woods Market, a few minutes away, has groceries, deli and liquor or there is a range of grocery, dining, shopping and other services available in Sechelt (8 minutes drive) including a weekly farmers market April-September.

The Aerie property is also adjacent to Cove Beach, a new gated community of 10 oceanfront/oceanview homes, a few of which are currently under construction. This has rarely been an issue for the majority of guests visiting over the course of the development but be aware there is the potential for intermittent noise weekdays between the hours of 8am- 4pm.

We bought the Pointhouse property in Dec 2005 as our future retirement home while we were still residing and working in Dawson Creek, BC. It was a successful vacation rental till Feb 2010 when we began a complete reconstruction of the main house and built a new guesthouse (Aerie) on the bluff above. We made the move to the Sunshine Coast full time in January 2011 living first in the Aerie guesthouse and finally in Jun 2012, the expanded and renovated Pointhouse now a boutique B&B. With the interesting guests from all over the world and a busy schedule of physician locums for Bob, retirement is still a ways off for both of us . Fortunately, life on the coast is a more relaxed pace allowing us more playtime, family time and travel opportunities.
