The Bothy is a simple farm cottage on our working arable farm. It is well equipped for quiet stays off the beaten track, yet only 2 miles from a busy village with all amenities. With wide open spaces and stunning sunsets, there is nearby access to the wild marshes of the Wash, and we're only a short drive to King's Lynn, Sandringham, and the Norfolk coast.

The space
The cottage hallway has plenty of space for boots and coats, and open views over the fields behind. In the sitting room there's a smart TV, storage, and comfy sofa and armchairs, plus a dining table and chairs. The double bedroom has a wardrobe and chest of drawers, while the kitchen is well equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle etc. The shower room has an electric shower, basin, and toilet of course, plus heated towel rails. There is night-storage heating, and extra electric heaters should you need them. Bed-linen and towels are included, and there is an adjacent outhouse with washing machine you can use.
There are maps to borrow and some local information to help you make the most of your stay here in West Norfolk.
Outside, there is plenty of parking and a grassy sitting area with bench overlooking the open fields (great sunsets!), though it is not a fenced garden.

Where you’ll be

Norfolk, England, United Kingdom

The wild expanses of The Wash are unique, and the Peter Scott Walk runs the length of the sea bank from Sutton Bridge to West Lynn. King's Lynn is a Hanseatic port town - take the little passenger ferry across the Great Ouse. A little further afield are Sandringham House , Oxburgh, Houghton and Holkham Halls, and the stunning beaches, sailing, golf and walks on the North Norfolk Coast.
The village has a great bakery, butchers and Co-op, takeaways and chip shop, and 3 miles away The Partridge has excellent food and local Elgoods ale.

I’m a garden designer, property manager, farmer’s wife and Airbnb host in my 50’s. We love travelling, and now the children have more or less flown the nest, there are more exciting chances to explore more of the UK and the rest of the world. But we are so fortunate to live and work in beautiful Norfolk .

During your stay
We live on the farm, so are available if you have any questions. I might have some fresh-laid eggs available for your breakfast!
