Our house is eclectic but comfortable. We are out of town and off-grid so you can get a taste of what makes this remote and beautiful region unique. We have most modern amenities: electricity, phone and internet, running water (though only cold water; we heat our hot water on a stove), a flush toilet. We enjoy meeting our guests and hearing their stories. As we are 20 km from town you may need to prepare your meals here but you are welcome to share our kitchen.

The space
Step off the grid and explore the Northern wilderness from our home in northwest BC. Your own private room is located in a bright and sunny addition to our original log cabin built in 1979. Amenities include solar power, cold running water, wood heat in winter, indoor plumbing. Of course, the outhouse is still in back if you want the true back-to-the-land experience!

Located on the historic and unbelievably scenic road to Telegraph Creek, we are a 20-minute drive off Highway 37 and easy to find. Another 2 hours will find you in the Gold Rush and First Nstion town of Telegraph Creek, a world-renowned salmon fishing region.

We have well-maintained walking trails out our back door, and can direct you to beautiful hikes in the surrounding mountains and wilderness parks. Our place is a good staging ground for excursions into the Spatsizi and Mount Edzitza Provincial parks and the Stikine River. We can connect you to local guides and outfitters who can get you into one of the last true wilderness areas in North America.

Guest access
Your bedroom is small but attached to a larger sitting area.

We are two retired teachers who have lived most of our lives in Northern BC. We love to travel the world hiking and camping. We also love museums, archeological sites, and out-of-the-way places. Our interests include craft-produced coffee and beer, and world cuisine. Our home is an off-grid log house in the beautiful Cassiar mountain range in the far north west region of British Columbia. We have ten acres of homesteaded land in a pristine wilderness environment, accessed by a well-kept gravel road 12 miles off of Highway 37. We love to show visitors around this amazing place! We are very good company as guests, bringing with us our good humour, adaptability, and numerous stories from a lifetime of adventures. Our kids say that we are very easy to have around the house!
