Guest access

There is a small deck at the rear facing onto the lake. Boats can be moored at the dock free of charge.

Other things to note
This is a self-catering unit. All bed linen, towels and cooking utensils are included, and some household basics such as coffee filters, toilet rolls etc. There is a small grocery store at Dwight. Guests are requested to bring their own beach towels (please do not use the house towels on the beach). Earliest check-in is 16.00, check-out is by 11.00. The house is cleaned on a Sunday (or by arrangement if bookings are less than a full week) and there is a note left for guests detailing how to leave the property - ie, what to do with bedding / towels etc. Because the management company will charge us, any items removed from the property will in turn be charged at full replacement cost. You can use the kayaks and canoes (except in winter), but please make sure that you always wear a life vest (provided) and return all equipment to the store – please also make sure that kayaks and canoes are secured on return, so that they cannot drift out on to the lake.

Location

Dwight, Ontario, Canada

Dwight is a popular tourist and cottager destination at the very north end of Lake of Bays. This quaint village was established in 1875 by settler Edmund James Gouldie. Dwight is surrounded by Muskoka’s rugged and raw landscape with close proximity to Ontario’s famous Algonquin Provincial Park (20k).

Each season presents a new reason to discover, explore and love Dwight! In summer you can enjoy maintained hiking/biking trails, nearby world-class golf courses and the sparkling and vast Lake of Bays with Dwight Beach. Our beach is one of the most beautiful sandy shorelines in all of Muskoka and the only public beach along Lake of Bays’ 170km shoreline. Fall brings a spectacular burst of colour as the leaves change hue and Oxtongue Rapids draws both artists and photographers to capture its beauty.

Winter is a glistening, snowy paradise for snowshoeing, skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Mark your calendar for Dwight Winter Carnival on Family Day weekend in February. It kicks off with the Lions Club pancake breakfast and the day is loaded with children’s activities, the opportunity to try out winter sports and snowmobile time trials on the lake.
