It took us a while to find this place, and it is too good not to share! So please feel welcome to come and spend some time unwinding and relaxing in a safe and friendly environment.

The space
Our house is on the edge of a small village in the heart of a dairy farming community. We overlook Lake Mjøsa on the sunny side of the valley. In our large garden you will find this cosy cottage, a recent conversion from a workshop and storage outhouse. We have underfloor heating in the main room and bathroom. The furnishings are quite Scandanavian which gives a peaceful uncluttered feel with lots of painted wood and simple elegant decor.

Plenty of parking, access to a large garden and good walking and cross country skiing from the garden gate.

We live in the main house, enjoy having visitors and are always try to ensure our guets are happy.

Guest access
We have ample parking and a good sized garden with several places to sit or lounge. Badminton, archery, croquet, bowls and gardening is available if you want something to do......

Other things to note
We have recently started a rental business, delivering hot tubs to mountain cabins etc. for short-term hires. We will often have a tub available for our guests, and since there is minimum work to set one up at home, you may hire a tub for your exclusive use for 250kr per day, without having to pay the normal set-up charge. Please order it in good time, because the water takes two days to heat up to a delightful 38°C.

Make yourself at home in the cottage and finish that book or painting. We live in a quiet, peaceful, rural village, surrounded by farmland and trees with a 20 mile view down lake Mjøsa. We get about the same rainfall as Kent, but much less humidity. The air feels fresh all the time. Artists and photographers like the strong colours that our clear air provides. We get very few mosquitos here, and most insects are kept to a minimum by the harsh winters. If you are lucky you might see moose, roe, fox, badger and even lynx. Keep your eyes open when driving or walking anywhere.

Brought up in Scotland, but I have lived in England then Norway most of my life. Married to a Kentish man for over 30 years, and have one (Norwegian) son. I am never happier than when in the kitchen or garden at home, but enjoy travel and 'going the extra mile' for friends and guests. I like 'slow food', and savour the seasons in turn. Life is full of magic moments and I try to spot them every day.
