This downstairs studio apartment (about 260 square feet) is located inside an adorable bungalow within steps of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway/Indy 500 track. Park on the street or in the driveway and enter through the back door and walk straight downstairs to your humble abode. Twenty minutes to the airport, fifteen minutes to downtown Indy, and three blocks to the track and Main Street Restaurants. Reserve just the downstairs studio or the entire house. (See other Vintage Racer listing.)

The space
Speedway is a quaint, safe neighborhood known for the biggest one day sporting event in the world -- The Indianapolis 500. It is a post WWII neighborhood filled with tiny bungalows where the church bells ring, the train whistles off in the distance, and children still walk to school and home for lunch if they choose. The paved walking trails are right outside the front door and a few steps away. You can walk to the local bars, restaurants, ice cream shop, and new coffee shops on Main Street. The yard is inviting with plenty of seating and a hammock under the shade tree. His and her bicycles are available for your use. Vintage Racer Studio apartment is a basement studio and is nicely decorated and offers a cooktop, pots/pans, cooking utensils, a coffee/tea bar, a counter top oven big enough to cook a pan of cookies or two 12" pizzas, a refrigerator and microwave. The bed is a sofa bed. It is double size. I have made it very comfortable by adding a 3" great quality foam topper. There is a full bathroom with shower. You have a place to eat, plenty of counter space, and even a small office. You have free access to the washer and dryer, too. Please, again, note that this is a basement studio so there are stairs to access the studio. I never rent out the upstairs to other guests while guests are staying in the studio. A locked door at the top of the stairs separates the studio from the rest of the house. I sometimes stay on the main floor of this home and may be at this home during your stay. I do my best to stay completely invisible unless you want to meet me.

Where you’ll be

Speedway, Indiana, United States

The Town of Speedway is a, well, 1) the Racing Capital of the World and 2) Pleasantville. It is a post WWII town dotted with tiny bungalows mostly where the church bells ring and the children walk to school and a train whistles off in the distance. Main Street offers plenty of bars, restaurants, ice cream, and go karting.

I am an outgoing, friendly, adventuresome woman who has taken time off to travel the world. Full of stories and adventures, I love life and love to hear the stories of others. In 1995, my boyfriend, a pilot, was killed in a tragic airplane crash so I left the law firm in which I was working to travel the world for eight months starting in January, 1996. From diving off a yacht in Aruba and landing on an Octopus, sleeping alone on the Serengeti plains and being visited by a male lion at 4:00 a.m., being pushed off a boat, alone, in the Indian Ocean treading water as the boat motored out of sight, to having a near death experience with malaria in Zanzibar! It has been a wonderful life! Someday, I'll write a book! Live your dreams and enjoy the adventure called life! And don't forget to love one another.
