Enjoy the warm Sri Lankan care of this river-side homestay near Kandy.
Ajantha’s homestay has a room especially made for guests, with private bathroom and balcony. The house itself has a small garden, a large living room and a great balcony from which you can see the river run by, have a cup of tea, read a book.
Interaction with guests
Your host, Ms. Ajantha, runs her homestay like a pro. She speaks English, cooks great local dishes and keeps the house, together with her husband who’s been in tourism for years. If you’re looking for tours around Kandy, Mr. Ajantha’s the man. The real hero though is their son, who’s an exceptional cricketer. Ask him about Muthia Muralitharan and you’ll never hear the end of it :P
Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.
We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.
As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.
In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.
The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
