Baan Sabaijai (literally, Peace of Mind House) is a unique place. Situated on a rural land of over 1.6 acre (4 rai), you will be as close to nature as it gets with a variety of fauna and flora. The house was designed to be airy with high ceiling in a semi-loft style, used mostly local materials true to the modern Northern style of architectural style. There are three generously sized bedrooms with two bathroom. The house has a front terrace perched over a big reservoir of fresh rain water.

The space
The space lends itself to be a perfect place for writers' retreat. Spacious, close to nature, and quiet, you can let your imagination run wild and your creativity heightened. In the morning you will be greeted by the gentle sound of pheasant (much lower pitch than domestic roosters).

After breakfast, you can stroll through our backyard full of ducks and geese. Then you may spend your morning working on your writing project or you may wander around the market and villages nearby.

The afternoon is the perfect time to sit on the porch overlooking the front reservoir. You will be able to spot all kind of fish including Japanese koi fish (some of them already losing their colorful skins but we love them all the same), assorted catfish including the Mekhong giant catfish (ปลาบึก), and various other water creatures.

In the evening, you may decide to eat in using our well-equipped kitchen or create your own little bbq party in the garden. Just let our staff know your plan so they can help you make it a reality.

Another highlight that we adore is the fact that the property is surrounded on three sides by picturesque rice fields. As you can see from the photos, they are particularly memorable during the morning in the winter (December-February).

This is our Chiangmai home, which we have guarded as our own little heaven on earth for a long time. Now it's time to share it with the rest of the world.

Pa Phai is a small hamlet in San Sai district around 20 kilometers from the downtown Chiangmai. Its charm comes from its unspoiled, rural atmosphere that is not far away from the tourist hotspot of Chiangmai. People are amiable. Cost of living is extremely manageable. You can plan your month long stay that does not cost as much as a week in Chiang mai.
