Great check-in experience
Recent guests loved the smooth start to this stay.
Sitting right on the edge of the Angkor conservation zone and a stone's throw from the river park, Narivana Angkor is a modern take on the traditional Khmer house with a generous swimming pool in a lush tropical garden.
The space
Narivana Angkor is a beautifully simple house in the traditional Khmer style, sensitively adapted to contemporary needs, with a gorgeous reflection pool in a tropical garden, in a working local neighbourhood within easy cycling distance of Angkor Wat.
Designed by distinguished architect Claire Campens, the house accommodates up to six people in three bedrooms, with a generous terrace overlooking the pool that doubles as a dining space and an open sitting room in the upstairs loggia where you can watch the sun set over the fields.
The upper floor is clad in reclaimed timber from old Cambodian houses, and the bedrooms are simply and stylishly furnished in mostly reclaimed wood with a few stick of furniture and other objects the owners have picked up on their travels. Floors are tiled in locally made colonial tiles.
Mature trees surround the garden and shade an 11m saltwater pool. The house is equipped with all modern comforts, with good fast WiFi, air-conditioning and cooling fans, and plenty of space to sit and relax after a sweaty day at the temples. Staff are at hand to assist you with all your needs.
All bedrooms have a double bed and ensuite bathroom with rain shower. The ground-floor bedroom also has an extra outdoor shower.
The area
Siem Reap, like the rest of Cambodia, is developing rapidly, and Narivana Angkor sits in the middle of a fast-gentrifying semi-rural neighbourhood (the prime minister's family have just built themselves a palace at the corner). That can mean mean all kinds of noise, from building works to dogs and chickens, to say nothing of the perpetual weddings and funerals, which are LOUD in this country. If you are sensitive to noise, bring earplugs.
Power cuts can happen across the city, even next door to the prime minister's palace, but they are getting fewer and further between, and even at the height of the monsoon season they rarely last more than an hour.
Guest access
Guests have access to their bedroom and all communal spaces.
Other things to note
At the moment (August 2026) a new construction project is going on near Narivana Angkor. We don’t know what stage it will be at when you visit. It could be a time of quietly rendering the walls, or other, noisier activities could be taking place. It could already be completed.
What we do know is that the workers finish at 5 o’clock sharp, so your evenings will be peacefully your own.
Important: How many guests are coming?
You will have the property to yourselves, but prices are based partly on occupancy — it’s cheaper for two guests than for five — and we prepare as many bedrooms as are needed, so please book for the exact number of guests.

Where you’ll be
Siem Reap, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia
Narivana Angkor sits in the middle of a semi-rural working neighbourhood just 200m from the border of the conservation zone and 500m from the Angkor ticket office. At one end of the street is the beautiful river park, where the locals come out to stroll, exercise and relax in the evening: a great place to grab a snack or a drink.
The brash pleasures of downtown Siem Reap and the Pub Street are only 10 minutes away straight along the river, but there are also plenty of good restaurants and little cafes closer to home. Just 20 m from the house at the end of our little street is a charming new cafe/restaurant where you can go for morning coffee, breakfast and lunch.
Cambodia is fast developing: it is not a quiet country. Our area too is still in transformation, and even if there is no construction going on somewhere nearby, it can be noisy: dogs bark, cockerels crow, hammers hammer, pots and pans bang. Occasional weddings and funerals are LOUD throughout the country, and sometimes the workers nearby may entertain you with their karaoke or dance music. Fortunately they go to bed early.
