We were 2 couples passing through Rome for 1 night from Florence to Amalfi. Alessandro and Elena were wonderful hosts. The place was clean, centrally located and filled with everything we needed. Thank you. We highly recommend Alessandro's place

My lady and I are on a 20 day trip around Italy and the best place to stay was in Rome at Alessandro's. He and his lady made us feel like royalty. Even though the busses were on strike, walking around Rome to see the sites was no problem. The neighbour's dog is all the security t…

Alessandro's apartment is a 10 minute walk from the walls of Vatican City and is very conveniently located with plenty of small supermarkets and restaurants nearby. It is also right on a bus route which can take you straight to the tourist areas such at the Colosseum etc. and you…

Alessandro is the best host around. He sent really detailed description of how to get to his home, met us en route, gave local tips and went out of his way to make sure we were settled. This included having food and drink when we arrived. This wasn't done for us at any of our oth…

Response from Alessandro:
Dearest Sarah, I'm sorry to have read that you did not like my neighborhood. It is one of the richest, safest and most renowned in Rome. My neighborhood, called "San Pietro", is located in the center of Rome. As I showed you on the map when you arrived, my cottage is well connected to every part of the city. In particular, in just 10 minutes walk you can reach St. Peter's Basilica and in 20 minutes the Vatican Museums. Besides, my cottage is 5 minutes walk from ROMA SAN PIETRO railway station. Here pass 2 regional trains that are joined both with metro line A (on Valle Aurelia stop) and with metro line B (on Piramide stop). These trains run throughout the city, even coming out to other regions. For example, using these trains you can get to Trastevere in 2 minutes, Roma Termini railway station in 20 minutes and to Fiumicino airport in 45 minutes. Besides, metro line A (on Ottaviano/San Pietro/Musei Vaticani stop) is 20 minutes walk or 10 minutes by bus no. 982. This bus and others ( (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ) pass on the main road called VIA GREGORIO VII that is just 3 minutes walk from my cottage. For example, as I showed at your arrival, you can get to the Roman Forum and Colosseum in 15 minutes using the 916 bus. Besides, you can get to Trastevere in 20 minutes walk and Piazza Navona in 25 minutes walk. Also consider that the city of Rome has an extension of 1285 square kilometers (798.46 miles) and only the city center starts from my neighborhood (San Pietro) and arrives to Termini Station: it is a huge distance of 10 kilometers ( 6.21 miles). If you had doubts or difficulties on how to move in Rome, you could ask: for me it is always a pleasure to help my guests. I am always available on the mobile phone, also I live right next door to the cottage so you've just to cross your garden and knock or ring at my door. Honestly putting 2 stars for the location of my cottage is really little. Two stars is an assessment for a hovel in the suburbs and not for a cottage in the center of Rome and near the Vatican. You and your family will always be welcome in my cottage. Best regards Alessandro
