Welcome to 'Blacksmiths Cottage' at The Old Smithy!

Nestled in the delightful village of Burgh Castle, 'Blacksmiths Cottage' is perfectly located for a day out at the beach, enjoyable walks in amongst our beautiful countryside and broads and is close by to many fantastic attractions.

Built in the 18th Century and originally used as the Village Blacksmiths, this stunning property known as 'The Old Smithy' has had many lives including use as the village post office and popular tearoom.

The space
Your home from home... Blacksmiths Cottage has been lovingly styled to encompass practicality with comfortable country luxury.

The cottage has a private entrance including parking for one car directly outside the property on the driveway.

Entering in the cottage reveals a spacious and homely living area, including TV with Sky set-up, dining table and chairs, comfortable chesterfield sofa and one double sofa bed.

Leading on from the living space is the newly refurbished kitchen, with full cooking amenities including cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. Cutlery, plates and cooking utensils are also provided. The kitchen also includes a cupboard for storage of boots and coats.

Following on from the kitchen is the newly refurbished bathroom, which includes an electric shower and full sized bath. A selection of toiletries will be made available during your stay. Fresh towels are also provided.

The attic bedroom is accessed through the living room by open plan stairs (a stair gate at the top of the stairs are in situ when families with children stay). The bedroom includes a king sized bed, lots of storage space, a dressing table and stool, hanging rails and seating to enjoy the stunning views from both the front and side aspects of the property. Hairdryer and fresh linen provided, with extra throws and pillows available on request.

Your stay will also include access to your own secluded courtyard which can be accessed through the side gate of the cottage. Guests are free to use this for the duration of their stay.

Access to the cottage will be by key-safe and a code and property directions will be given the day before you are due to stay.

Well behaved dogs are welcome to stay with a maximum of 2 dogs allowed. However, please note that dogs are not to be left unattended in the cottage at anytime during your stay.

Children / 2 extra guests are more then welcome to stay, with sleeping arrangements in the living area on a double sofa bed (linen provided). Travel cot is available upon request and can be set up in the main upstairs bedroom. Please let us know if you need one and we will set this up before your arrival.

Maximum of 4 guests allowed (infants in a cot will not be included in the number of total guests). No smoking in the property please, however smoking is permitted in the private courtyard.

COVID-19 MEASURES
We are making sure that your stay is safe by putting in extra measures after each person/s stay. The accommodation will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised throughout, with extra hot washes on linen and towels. Wall mounted hand sanitisers will be in place within the accommodation.

Guest access
You will have unrestricted access to the cottage, including living area, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and private courtyard.

Other things to note
Under normal circumstances we like to be slightly flexible with check in and out times where needed. However due to extra covid cleaning protocols, we must allow a full five hour gap between guests checking out and in on the same day.

This gap allows us to give the property a full deep clean, sanitisation of all surfaces and thorough airing before new guests arrive.

Therefore at present, we will not be able to accommodate any future requests for early / late check in or out times.

Check in is from 3pm on the date of arrival. Check out is 10am on the date of departure.
