Chadi's is a cute little lived-in place that feels just like home. It's a little on the older side, but that's San Fran for you. You can expect it to be filled with everything that you would need as if you actually lived there (e.g., toilet paper, q-tips, condiments, coffee and tea, food, entertainment systems, streaming services, hair dryer, first-aid, etc.). I loved that he had all these options for video and music streaming, or just plug your laptop into the TV and do whatever you want. If you don't want to go digital, jam out on the nice guitars that are at the place (I don't play but they were pretty to look at). The neighborhood cats come by if you want to say hi. The place is smaller than what it looks like in the pictures, but pretty much all pictures on AirBnB are like that.
The location was great! Mission district is lively and full of amazing restaurants, graffiti art, markets, etc. If you like clean and froufrou places, this neighborhood is not for you. It has culture, passion, and personality that comes with a city like San Fran. It's a great neighborhood to walk around; expect to hear blasting music, see amazing artwork, eat great food from those hole-in-the-wall looking places, and have fun. Buses are just a block or two away, and Chadi has info for cars and parking if you decide to drive (we didn't). I loved it!
There were a couple of reviews that said the noise was present but a "non-issue". Well guess what? It's a definite issue. The neighbors are extremely noisy. Expect to hear tons of stomping, arguing, yelling, doors slamming, etc. They were also working on some DIY projects or something because they were hammering away and possibly sanding things on their deck. This place is good if you're pretty much gone from 6:30am to 10pm every day because it's noisy every, single, day (weekends too).
Another note about the neighbors: they watch you. I had a message sent to me from Chadi stating that the neighbors saw me leave the gate "wide" open. I was taking a call outside (didn't get good reception inside) and therefore decided not to lock the 3 doors/4 locks (all different keys) that it takes to get inside because I was just right outside. Well, guess they noticed it was not locked during my call. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable being there because I felt like I was being watched.
Wifi is slow. Don't expect to be able to stream anything unless you hotspot yourself.
Overall: Great neighborhood, and the actual place itself is good. The neighbors definitely ruined it for me though, and I wouldn't stay here again unless they weren't there. If you just need a place to sleep and a fun neighborhood to be in, it's perfect.
