The space
Norfolk Splendor

Morley Old Hall is steeped in romantic history which you sense when you make your way down the chestnut tree lined drive. As it bends ever so slightly, and you spy your first glimpse of the ethereal Hall, you’ll catch your breath. There is an atmosphere of tranquility that embraces the grounds and one immediately feels at peace. Morley Old Hall is a stunning Elizabethan and iconic Grade I listed country home defended by an Anglo Saxon moat and steeped in mystery.

The Hall itself was designed by Sir Jonathan Sedley (an architect to both Henry VII and Henry VIII), started in 1545 and it remained in the Sedley family until 1790s. In more recent years the house has been owned by Field Marshal Sir Edmund Ironside, Commander in Chief of Home Forces during the Second World War and by Janet Shand Kydd, the first wife of Peter Shand Kydd, stepfather of Diana, Princess of Wales.

This gorgeous house has featured in TV and films. It is also the first house in "Beautiful Homes of Britain".

Guest access
Guest are requested not to cross the moat as the Hall itself is a private residence. The rest of the grounds are for guest use,
