Where you’ll be

Falköping V, Västra Götalands län, Sweden

Please visit Gökhem's church village, located 2 km walking distance along the Vilskeleden trail. On your way there you pass Gökhemskogen with a marked loop through Pastor Runstedt's seeded old forest. In the middle of the church village is Gökhem's church from the 1130s in an ancient cultural environment. Gökhem's vicarage has had many well-known visitors, such as Gustav Vasa, Carl von Linné and Bishop Sigge in Skara. Right next door is the church ruin and Antikfiket where you can enjoy a lovely coffee and buy selected second hand. Visit Vedkonst in Gökhem with a new exhibition every year, created with a glimpse in the eye.

If you instead follow the trail 2 km south towards Sörby, you will reach Väsmestorps Stone Wall Landscape, about to become a Nature Reserve, with winding stone walls created by a single man in a beautiful cultivation landscape. From here you can take advantage of Alphems Arboretum with one of Sweden's largest tree collections and café in the house that has been depicted as Snow White's cottage in Disney's animated film. For a wonderful view of the Falkland countryside, we also recommend a trip to the top of Oden hill where Erik XIV wanted to build a city.
