About this listing

Spring is here and the flowers are blooming! Time to enjoy the hot tub next to the rushing waterfall and watch the koi and the birds eat while the moon and the stars swirl overhead. Our tiny house is set high in a beautiful honey locust tree over the waterfall and koi pond. We are now kid-friendly, if your kids are okay with the ladders, high porch, etc.
Full color treehouse gift certificates are a very special gift!

This is a real treehouse, not a stilt house, so in a strong wind the treehouse will gently rock much like a sailboat at anchor in a safe harbor.

Friendly, multi-racial host family welcomes all. LGBTQ friendly.

*PLEASE NOTE: The Village of Schaumburg has now approved Airbnb rentals, but they do not allow rental of just the treehouse. The Village has agreed that we can give guests exclusive use of the treehouse, koi pond, hot tub, firepit, etc., as free amenities incidental to the rental of a room in our home. Thus, the pictures and amenities listed are offered free to guests, who will have complete private access to the treehouse, but the rental fee is for a room in the house. Thank you for your understanding.

WINTER LOVERS: We got talked into opening the treehouse in the winter and it worked out great. The hot tub works; the treehouse is insulated and warm; the stream and waterfall are running, and the winter garden and birdwatching are amazing! However, the outdoor shower is down for the winter (due to amazingly warm winter, shower is now running, and hammock is up), and the sink water is off. We put a 2 1/2 gallon water jug over the sink so there is water for teeth, coffee, etc. You can snowshoe at the Spring Valley Nature Center down the street, with snowshoe rentals for a nominal charge. Come check us out for winter, in the quiet season!

Other things to note

We supply robes and towels, but guests might want to bring sandals or slippers.

This was a great experience. Didn't seem like we were in IL. Somewhere you'd travel far for that scenery. The hot tub was amazing. Perfect temp outside just a little chilly.

Great place! It was a dream come true to stay in a treehouse with such beautiful landscaping, a fire pit, and hot tub to top it off. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area!

Daniel User ProfileDaniel is a superhost.

I'm an outgoing family man who, along with my wife, would love to host you in our backyard garden treehouse which I built with help from a buddy. I'm a coast guard licensed sailor who took a few years off to sail the Caribbean. I do carpentry, and in my spare time I am currently helping to develop an eco treehouse lodge on the Snake River in the Teton foothills near Jackson Hole, Wyoming. I also enjoy gardening. We are a multi-racial open-minded household so people of all races and lifestyles are welcome here.
