This is a cozy room in the center of Midtown. You're a 10 minute walk from TimesSquare and CentralPark, and a quick subway ride from everything else NY has to offer. The apartment is a classic 3 bedroom walk up I share with two roommates. The space is best for the traveler who wants to spend their time exploring, and just needs a place to crash. Occasionally, the host sleeps in the living room while guests are there. However we try to keep this to a minimum.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Dominique's place this past 4th of July weekend and it was a wonderful diamond in the rough. Upon arrival, we were provided with fresh linens, towels, soap, and even earplugs to block out the busy NY nightlife. Dominique and his two roommates were dedicated to making sure we were comfortable and welcome at all times while staying at their conveniently located apartment, just blocks away from Central Park, Times Square, metro stations, and delicious restaurants. Definitely will try to stay here again on my next NYC trip. You can't beat the value!

Great New York apartment close to all the night life and bars. Bring your ear plugs if you are staying from Friday, as it is directly above a bar which has open mic nights which you can sing along to in your room. I didn't get to meet Dominique, but he was very helpful thru email and he left the key with his friend to let me in, with minimal hassle.

Dominique's place is right in the theatre and entertainment area, which makes the neighbourhood fantastically lively. All sorts of beautiful cafes, restaurants ans bars are at walking distance, as well as some main attractions. The room itself is cute and cosy. The house is welcoming and very clean. Dominique is an amazing host; very friendly and accommodating, and went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one

Together with a friend I stayed at Dominique's private room to visit NYC for an extended weekend. Dominique was really nice and communicative. The arrival and check out was super easy. The apartment is located great, just a few steps to Times Square and Central Park. But also the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center is reachable within a few minutes walking distance. On the other hand it was quite noisy but that was not bad since we did not spend much time inside. Therefore, I can recommend his room for short trips, especially when you plan a lot of sightseeing and when you do not plan to spend much time in the apartment.

My mom and I stayed with Dominique and his roomies just for one full night, as we had a really early flight to Europe the following night at 2am. The location of the apartment was easy to find, and Dominique showed up right away to let us into the apartment- he was very good about communicating. The room and bathroom were definitely New York style and true to everything that is listed. Don't expect anything like a hotel, because you're staying with someone in their home, which is the whole point of AirBnb. Hotels in this area are at least $130 a night so it is a good deal. The roommates are really lovely and gave us good pizza recommendations. We walked all the way down to the Brooklyn bridge from the apartment- it is a super good deal for the location you get, as it's 5 minutes from Central Park also. There is a bar downstairs, but that's typical of most hip New York apartments, so if you're looking for a good night's sleep, bring earplugs! Believe it or not that's what many of New York's inhabitants do to get some shut-eye in the city that never sleeps, so we know for next time. Thank you guys so much!

As I've mentioned in the previous review questions I was very unhappy staying at this apartment. It was nothing like the photos and description. Starting with the fact that the room provided for us to sleep in was the owners personal room and had his belongings (clothes, underwear) in the room. Which in turn left us no space for our stuff. The washroom toilet seat was broken, the cold water tap in the shower wouldn't turn on, and the sink had his roommates hair all over the sink after shaving. Furthermore, the owner failed to mention that there was a noisy bar that played music until 12 at night, therefore when I wanted to call it in early a few nights, I couldn't. Lets not forget to mention the drunk roommate and his friend making noise in the living room and the other roommate that walked around the living room ad sat on the couch with just his underwear. In conclusion, the owner was never there in person to help settle us in or show us around the apartment, we had to guess our way around & was not notified that our room door would not have a key to lock it when we weren't going to be at the apartment. I have never had to leave an air b&b room that I booked unlocked and never had an owner message me to tell me to trust the roommates "they will not show up unannounced."

Response from Dominique:
Hi Collin, first off, I sincerely apologize for the experience you had at my apartment. I always want to make sure that the guests have a wonderful time at my place. That said, many of the comments stated here are somewhat exaggerated and untrue to the actual listing. While the apartment has different furniture and wallpaper (a change we made for a recent photo shoot), the photos are not misleading. My belongings were NOT placed all over the room, but rather placed in their respective drawer space. The top two drawer space spaces are always open for guest to leave there items. Apologies if this wasn't communicated to you, as it should have by my roommate who let you in. The toilet seat was not broken (not sure where you saw this at), and the cold water in the shower works fine; it just takes a few minutes to get started. As stated in the the description, this is a clean classic apartment in New York City, not a luxury hotel. Furthermore, this listing was never advertised as a guest room. This is my actual room that I list when I'm out of town, which is why you didn't see me during your stay. Again, as stated in the description, this is for the traveler that needs a quick place to crash, and a full tour/walkthrough of your surroundings was not listed as an amenity that would be provided (it could be if requested!). From my experience I tend to let the guests do their own thing when they come, so I don't bother them. For the price provided, you received not only a good deal, but a real NY experience in a lively neighborhood. My apologies if you were expecting something else. PS: It was communicated that the lock on the bedroom door was just fixed days prior to your arrival and that we were awaiting a new key. Apologies that the key did't arrive on time, but the phrase "they will not show up unannounced." was in reference to them not barging into your room during your stay. This should have been clarified in your complaint above ^^ The bedroom door now has key in case. Be well
