Welcome to The Baltic, the first of its kind in the heart of cottage country, Ontario. Our treehouse combines all the creature comforts of a boutique hotel with the nest-like experience of life in the sky. Surrounded by windows on all sides, experience the magic of Haliburton Highlands’ iconic evergreens and mixed hardwood forests from a new, transformative perspective. Upon arrival, immediately feel a sense of calm as you climb up the steps to the wraparound treehouse deck, surrounded by beautiful forest views, no matter the season. Enter The Baltic to the warmth of fully clad birch ply ceilings and walls and earthen floors made from local sand, straw and clay, complete with a beautifully modern, concrete-like finish. In the open-concept living room, turn on the propane fireplace, made in Norway it looks and feels like the real deal without all the hassle and mess of a true wood-burner. Flop down on the oversized leather couch, toss on a record and crack open a book (or just take a load off and get lost in the cascading, two-story, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a woodland abyss, your choice!). The kitchen area has all the amenities you’ll need for a home-cooked meal. Or, test your hand at a truly primitive cooking experience over the ground-level fire pit. The main floor also includes a full bath, complete with a custom rain shower (large enough for two!), heated floors, and a near floor-to-ceiling window for all your Zen showering needs. Climb the ships ladder to the bedroom located in an open-concept loft space. Designed to maintain our treehouse’s experience of vast, natural space, the loft ceilings are 8-feet high at their lowest points and the bedroom is surrounded by windows on all sides, making it feel even larger. From the king-size bed, clad in crisp organic cotton, you can look in any direction for some seriously amazing glamping vibes. Our Commitment to Sustainability: Our family’s deep-rooted love for the Haliburton Highlands comes with an overwhelming respect for its natural beauty. It was essential to us from the get-go that our treehouse would be designed and built sustainably. The Baltic was built using as many sustainable and natural materials as was feasible and is completely off-grid. Notably, we used innovative hardware that supports the health, continued growth and longevity of the trees in which it was built.

PLEASE NOTE: The property is not available for any commercial purpose without prior consent. Wedding/special event rates and contract available upon request. We will always be available by phone or text. We live on the same property, however we value your privacy as much as we do ours. Our home and the treehouse are removed from one another and include separate driveways and outdoor spaces. *Please note, we have two super friendly huskies and our neighbour also has two dogs. While we do our best to keep them off the treehouse property, you may hear them or see them passing by, they are all very friendly but large and have been known to wander (they are still learning how to share their property). If this is concerning for you please let us know ahead of time so we can take extra care to ensure all the dogs stay out of your way.

A short drive will take you to restaurants, breweries, grocery stores, the LCBO, farmer’s markets (summer only), beaches, lakes galore, boat launches, hiking, river floating, and cross-country ski trails (winter only). Travel a little further and you'll find so much more! A car or, at the very least, a bicycle is necessary for both getting here and getting around. The property is fairly remote and while there is plenty to see and do in the area, there is no public transportation or walkable destinations nearby.
