"Quintessential Colorado" is how it's been described. Amazing mountain cabin with a 6 person wood-burning sauna, Starlink WiFi surrounded by trees/mountain views & exposed wood beams on 5 acres in the heart of the Rockies at 10,000 ft. Hike/bike the Continental Divide/Colorado Trails from the house. 2miles from Ski Cooper ski resort, 13miles from Leadville, 25miles from Vail & Copper Mountain. Hiking, biking, skiing, snowmobiling, dogsledding, ATVs, fly-fishing...do it all within minutes.
The space
Our house sits on 5 acres abutting the gigantic White River National Forest. Everything that Colorado has to offer can be done within minutes of the house: fly-fishing, skiing, white water rafting, hiking, 4-wheeling, horseback riding, craft beer drinking in Leadville. An easy drive to Vail, Buena Vista, Copper Mountain, & Breckenridge. The house is a timber-built home with huge wood beams everywhere. It is well-insulated with lots of windows. The house is technically “off-grid" but you would never know it. It has a wood-burning sauna, high-speed Starlink satellite WiFi, all appliances, & solar power with a backup propane generator. The house does not have AC because you would never need it. For heating, the house has radiant floor heating & a great wood-burning fireplace. The tap water is pumped from deep in the mountain from a spring so it's drinkable & super clean.
FYI this is a wilderness setting. You may see the following animals up close in or around the property: bats (definitely in the summer), deer, elk, hummingbirds, pine martens, black bears, eagles, spiders, moles, etc.. There are ZERO snakes at this altitude however.

100 yds- Fiddler hiking trail which connects to the Colorado/CDT trail
2.6 miles- Ski Cooper (skiing, cafe, cross-country skiing, tubing hill)
5.8 miles- Nova Guides (4-wheeler & snowmobile rentals)

12 miles - downtown Leadville (cafes, restaurants, gas, etc)
19 miles- Minturn
21 miles- Mount Massive trailhead (hike a 14er)
27 miles- Mount Elbert trailhead (hike the tallest mountain in Colorado)

Erika & Kurt are originally from New Orleans but moved to the beautiful 30A beaches of the Florida panhandle in 2020. We are blessed with 4 young children which keep us on our toes. We enjoy traveling ourselves & spent a long honeymoon traveling the world staying in AIRBNBs for a year. Erika owns the Pilates studio @TreadFormer30A & Kurt is a real estate investor. We speak English & are conversational en Español (after a couple of drinks). Our happy places are the white sand beaches of Florida & the mountains of Colorado.
