The Foggy Moon chalet is located in central Ukee amongst towering old growth trees. This spectacular open concept guesthouse offers ample space with deck areas, floor to ceiling windows, two living areas, reading nook, hammock chair, studio piano, foosball table, cozy wood burning fireplace and private hot tub!

We offer 2 guestrooms and a loft, suitable for 1 to 5 adults and no more than 3 children (1 group per stay, max 6 guests incl children)

The space
A cabin-lover’s paradise, the towering A-frame features exposed beams and windows that open to the temperate forest surrounding the house. Hand painted by Vancouver island local artist, @LisaJoanArt, each room features a mural of the wildlife that call Vancouver Island home – wolves, orcas, humpback whales and bald eagles.

Built in the sixties by a second generation Ucluelet family, the A-frame section was originally a kit home from Can-Wes in West Vancouver and was constructed using materials shipped over from the mainland. When an industry and tourism boom in the 1970s left the town with a shortage of hotel rooms, the family opened up the (now) Orca guestroom to guests, making it the first Bed & Breakfast room on offer in Ucluelet. The great room was added as an addition in the mid-1980s, followed by the (now) Lazy Bear cabin in the 1990s after the original family sold. Since then the guesthouse and cabin have played host to guests from all over the world as they explore the West Coast!

Set up for surfers, the outdoor area features surf racks, a wetsuit hanging zone, a hose for rinsing down your gear and a hot outdoor shower for washing off the day before jumping into our spacious 8 person hot tub facing our private forest.

Under our guesthouse zoning regulation the kitchen is not primarily for guest use. The kitchen can be used only for cold meal preparation or to warm up take away meals. Thank you for your understanding!
We can help arrange for group meals during your stay or welcome baskets with local goodies, fresh baked bread or muffins. Just ask for any of these additional services !

We proudly stock, and use, only non-toxic, luscious ocean friendly refillable products. Cleaning products are made locally by Mint cleaning, other refillable and low waste products are from our local refillery; The Den.

We are pet friendly ! Pets must be pre approved and an $40 pet fee will be charged. There are dog sitting services available in town, let us know if you’d like to arrange any of these while you’re out exploring for the day! 🐾

Please note that the Lazy Bear Cabin is located adjacent to the property and also hosts guests. As peace and enjoyment of our guests and neighbours is a top priority, this is your base for exploring the West Coast, not your West Coast party spot. Quiet hours are strictly enforced by the owners. *Please read House Rules before booking.*

Our dog host, Pablo, takes his hosting role very seriously as well 🐾. We recognize some groups may want more privacy over others, we will respect that within reason, as requested.

Know we are following extra cleaning protocols and take your and our health and safety seriously. We run a HEPA air filter between all stays.

Subject to availability, we may be able to arrange a private yoga class or massage in the great room, or weather permitting, at the beach! Let us know if you’re interested at the time of booking.
