What a beautiful place to stay in Troodos Mountains! The windy road up to the top of it was worth it. The view is gorgeous, Androula is very welcoming and her food is spectacular. There are many hikes (with waterfalls and beautiful fruit trees) nearby. A must stay place!

I highly recommend a stay with Androula - she is warm and welcoming, and made our stay unforgettable. The apartment has everything you need and the surrounding area is blissful peace. I can't wait to go back!!

I will echo what another reviewer said-- staying with Androula is not just a place to stay, it is an experience! If you are looking for a quiet mountain holiday with gorgeous nature surroundings, look no further. The cabin is in the heart of the old, tired village Tres Elies in the Troodos Mountains. We spent five days and six nights roaming through the village, taking our toddler to the local playground, and walking through the beautiful nature trail nearby. We arrived by taxi and did not have a car, choosing to unwind from the rest of the world. Androula did take us into some local towns and a hike to a waterfall for one day. If you wanted to do sightseeing, I recommend having a car. For us, just taking the taxi arranged by Androula was perfect. We went to a grocery store on our way in to buy food for lunches and snacks and opted to order off of the menu for Androula's homemade breakfasts and dinners. Some of my most memorable holiday meals were prepared by Androula. We spent mornings eating breakfast sipping coffee on the terrace surrounded by flowers and greenery, and evenings drinking beer on the balcony, overlooking the old village. We cannot wait to return!

Androula is a wonderful host, the property is unique with little gems of discovery in every room. It's presented, and is, a traditional small village living space. But please accept this as a positive. The views from the balcony and courtyard are brilliant. Watching the moon come up over the hills a delight. I must comment on the location. This is truly a very, very small village. It has a shop which sells basics only, there are no tavernas, bars etc. I reiterate it is a small village. Also the roads to the village are narrow, often covered with fallen rocks and not what I would like to drive on when dark. But a stay in Melanie, with Androula, is a very worthwhile experience my wife and I will always treasure.

Response from Androula:
More than ten years I try to give life to this village, which decreasing population every year. Unfortunately, it is not our state policy to support small villages. Still, there are people who come only for that, to experience one day in a quite small village in the green valley. Thank you Ian for your comments.

This house is more then an apartment rent. It's an experience. I'm afraid the 500 word limit on this review will fall short to describe the warm welcome we received, and even warmer goodbye when we left. The house itself is located far from any crowded tourist spot. It is located in a small village in the mountains, where the air is at its freshest and the water, the purest. With an incredible view waiting behind the balcony doors for you to discover every morning, accompanied by the chirping of birds and nothing else. The house interior is a feat of its own. more then a 100 years old, yet cozy as your home. Full of all the amenities you might need coupled with a decor reminding you of the days this structure was built, and it was built well. The village is authentic and full of nice people that were eager to help us and share with us, once we overcame the language barrier using a few apps. less then 10 minutes walk away from the house, there are amazing walking trails which we recommend. There are many beautiful villages 15-40 minutes drive away, in some of the more picturesque roads we traveled in. (the road might be a bit scary at night due to the lack of street lights, but for the daring ones - you've never seen so many stars.) A word about the host. Androula is a warm, smiling and loving woman which made sure we had every thing we needed, when we arrived, while we were there and gave us great tips for when we left. She was extremely easy to communicate with, and was genuinely hospitable. If you're looking for an adventure off the beaten path, look no further.

A charming, traditional house in a remote, very small and authentic village. The surroundings were beautiful with some very picturesque walking trails nearby. We chose Melanie House as we liked the idea of Androula's meals and cookery lessons but unfortunately she was away whilst we were there (which we had known but booked anyway). We hadn't appreciated, however, that it was a 26km round trip to the nearest (small) shop and restaurant, so it was a rather long drive when we wanted an evening meal or had run out of milk, especially after a tiring day walking. It was lovely there though and the young people next door who looked after us were very pleasant. We'd go again but next time would make sure Androula is there.
