A cosy bolthole with medieval roots in the ancient stannary town of Chagford in Dartmoor. Perfect for romantic getaways or rural escapism. Relax at a home away from home, or use as a base for exploring the wild wonders of the local area.

We hope the cottage will be an idyllic stay away from home. If you are travelling for a special occason please let us know! We are happy to help arrange any extras for your arrival.

The space
No. 6 is a terraced cottage situated in the centre of Chagford. The cottage has medieval roots and a host of remarkable features which tell its story. Upon entering into the lounge you will find a large granite fire place with wood burning stove, flagstone floors and exposed beams, leading to a fully equipped kitchen with Rangemaster cooker and Nespresso coffee machine. Up the hidden and windy staircase you will find an unusual tiny glazed stair light, before entering a spacious king size bedroom with exposed stone, original beams, and ensuite bathroom. The cottage is in a perfect location to enjoy the best of both worlds, just a few minute walk to local pubs (all 4!), cafés, a butcher, baker, wine shop, deli, and other artisan shops, but easily accessible to venture out for long walks on the moor.

Where you’ll be

Chagford, England, United Kingdom

Chagford is an ancient stannary town with a small but vibrant community, home to those with a variety of interests. Friendly and welcoming, it has a buzzy atmosphere. The town has many local amenities, including the pubs and cafés , and other foodies treats such as a wood-fired oven pizza van and home cooked Asian fusion, as well as a range of local shops and weekly flea market selling local produce.

Chagford is in an ideal location too, readily accessible by car via the M5, A30, and A38; by train with London - Exeter rail links; and by plane from Exeter Airport. A 10 minute drive will take you back to the A30, where you are also only a 30 minute drive from the Cornish border.
