A great place to wind down to after a long day of kite-surfing on Kalpitiya Lagoon.
The price is per room and there are two rooms available.
It's a nice place, Anne's. Nothing fancy, but a well-kept, medium sized house with two rooms, a bathroom (with hot water!), a living room and a kitchen for you to use. A nice, simple and clean, ideally suited use as a home base while kitesurfing with a small group.
Anne's, located in a quiet neighbourhood, is very close to Kalpitiya town, 1.5 kilometres from the lagoon and about 3 kilometres from the Kankakuliya beach. Holland Church is nearby and if you get permission you can visit the old Dutch Fort.
Ms. Anne , your host, lives in separate spaces in the same house, together with her two children. She's lived abroad for a long time and has p[icked up many languages (English, Hebrew, Hindi and even a little Arabic) and culinary skills (local, western) along the way. Anne's brother owns a boat and can take you for dolphin watching trips and many other things.
Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.
We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.
As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.
In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.
The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
