Come and relax in this beautiful 19th Century limestone cottage that was originally built for the railway lines gate keeper. Charm and tranquility are second to none. Relax on the patio from which you may catch a glimpse of the kingfisher on the river or a fox ambling down the line. The cottage is close to Killaloe, Nenagh and Limerick so shopping and other amenities are well within reach for a day out. In the evening there's the option of cosying up by the wood burning stove.

The space
The cottage is in beautiful surroundings and a great place to get away from the hussle and bussle. There is no wifi but mobile phone reception is good. There are five small trains that pass by throughout the day which entertain rather than disturb the peace.
The kitchen is well equipped and basic condiments, tea and coffee will be supplied. The cottage is small but perfect for a couple. However, the space will fit up to 4 as there is a sofa bed in the sun room. The patio is South facing and catches the sun for most of the day. Perfect for dining outdoors. For the evenings there is a cosy woodburning stove where you can warm your toes.
Killaloe is on the edge of Lough Derg. It has a small farmers market every Sunday where you can support local people and their businesses. Killaloe and the surroundings are areas of outstanding beauty with many beautiful walks.

Railway cottage is in a beautiful place yet not far from local amenities. The local farmer passes by on a daily basis but will not bother you unless you fancy a chat! If you feel like having a pint the bar is just a 5 minute walk away.

I enjoy growing vegetables and flowers and really appreciate being able to find solitude among plants and nature. I also like to travel and have lived and worked in both Spain and India.
