Hi! I'd like to welcome you to my cozy and comfortable private bedroom in a shared apartment. I am located in Washington Heights and an 8-minute walk away from the A, C, & 1 trains, and blocks from the Columbia University Medical Center.
The space is a perfect size for a solo traveller or a couple that want to get away from the prices and noise of downtown Manhattan. It is tucked away near Highbridge park and the Harlem river.
The space has a full bed, shared bathroom, closet space available, a desk and chairs, and shelf space. We've provided throw pillows and blankets for extra comfort on those cold nights. White Christmas lights are strung along the wall for added ambiance. Wick-less scented candles are provided to enhance your visit. The room has a radiator, fan, and hanging space. It is used as a sewing studio when not being occupied by a guest. You're welcome to use the desk space as you please.
Guests can use the kitchen/eating area and it's amenities.
Interaction with guests
We are in and out of the apartment throughout the day and use the space to relax and unwind. We do our best to keep a warm, quiet, and relaxing environment for ourselves and our guests. We are friendly people and are available for any questions or concerns about your stay.
Other things to note
We are located in a safe neighborhood right next to a daycare on one side and a school on the other.
To make your stay more enjoyable for everyone, please acknowledge the following:
-Please clean dishes immediately after use. If you move something please put it back. If you use utensils or cooking ware, please wash them after use and put them back where you found them.
-Please keep in mind that we do compost and recycle. Compost is located in clear plastic bin in freezer. Recycling under sink cupboard at right side.
-cabinet doors should be closed gently or they will slam shut and cause noise, please be considerate of noise levels while using kitchen, as it travels to other guest's rooms.
-rinse out soiled trash or recyclables before disposing, this helps prevent accumulation of flies.
-wipe down counters and stove top after preparing or cooking food with appropriate sponge provided.
-open food should be wrapped before placing in fridge.
-In general, clean up after yourself and be considerate of the space for the other residents who will use it. This all makes for a more friendly and respectful environment for everyone using the space.
-You may store your toiletries in the bathroom on the shelf in the shower at the foot of the tub. However, please do not store things on the sink itself. It is a small space and items on the sink clutter up an already tiny space.
-There is a bathmat provided in the shower, please put it on the floor before the shower and hang it up on the shower curtain rod after you’re done.
-Please use the bathroom rag provided to clean up any water spills in the sink area.
-Please keep the door open when not in use so the bathroom can air out.
-Please use the squeegee provided to wipe the walls and caulk line of excess water.
-Please treat the bedroom with respect. -Please be mindful of where everything goes and kindly put it back after each use.
-Please keep the room as clean as possible during your stay. If you eat in the apartment, we recommend that you eat in the kitchen.
-Please make sure to turn lights off when you leave the apartment.
-Shoes should not be worn in the apartment.
-No Smoking of ANY kind in the apt or building, that includes weed.

Nile is a professional dancer who has been living in New York City for a little over 7 years. I've seen and done a lot in this city and would love to help recommend things to see and do to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Nile enjoys a quiet, comfy place to curl up in and call home, food (particularly Chinese and Thai), and doing anything artful and hands-on. Nile is learning French and is also learning how to make his own clothing from scratch. The apartment is also gay friendly.
