My passions in life are my family, friends, entertaining, nature, gardening, creating, designing and building. At the age of 16, without any prior construction experience, few tools, and a whole lot of creativity, ingenuity, desire and determination, my first home was originally built as a 24' x 36' garage. After the garage was dried in, interior walls, windows and doors were added. I remember cutting the hole for the front door with a chain saw. Just for the fun of it and so no one could ever rightfully say "it ain't worth a dime", a dime was enclosed in the wall that separates the kitchen and living room. Our family names and the date are written on the inside of the walls. My daughter wrote her name and the date in the concrete floor. My granddaughters' growth has been and still is charted on the casing between the kitchen and the dinning room. Granted not one thing in my little bungalow is perfect but it was the perfect experience that lead me into a 37 year career where I have been a part of building showcase homes all over New Bern, Oriental, Beaufort, Swansboro and other regional areas. 2013 Marcos, my co-host and right hand man came along. He took one look at me and my bungalow, fell in love with us both, saw our potential, shared my vision and now in 2021 we are elated to share Half Moon Haven with the world of travelers. Half Moon Haven has something that no other home I have helped build has. It has many great stories and cherished memories of my becoming. Whether your travel is for pleasure, business or event, we look forward to having the opportunity of being your Host. As Airbnb Host, we enjoy providing our guest with a personalized stay. Please let us know if there is a special occasion, event or circumstance for your travel such as birthday, wedding, honeymoon, business or relocating. More often than not, it is the simple pleasures and personal touches that mean the most. We want Half Moon Haven to be a place where your great stories and cherished memories are created too. Happy Travels, Sharon and Marcos
