Great location, great place, Brendan was extremely responsive. Cleanliness-wise it's more like a student place, totally fine but not scrubbed to middle-age hotel standards. Price, funkiness, location make it more than worth it to us.
Although we didn't actually meet, Brendan seemed very nice and communicative about check-in and check-out. The place is really spacious and artsy, albeit not so clean and kind of noisy (it was hot enough that we needed the windows open, and one of the bedrooms is street-facing)…
Response from Brendan:
The apartment is on St. Laurent, an important and popular street in the city so the front room can get noisy in the summer party time season. My cleaner assured me he left the place Spic N Span but either the restaurant renovations are bumping up dust or people are just getting freaky about the big clean. I blame the internet. :) Yeah summer heat luxury!
Pros - Perfect location in mile end - Lots of space - Brendan was responsive when we had question Cons - It really wasn't clean enough. We had to ask for clean towels. The bathroom and kitchen had been cleaned, but the floors were very dusty and we were often sneezing.
Response from Brendan:
The cleaner was quite rushed the day Steve checked in as I had a longer stay that had left the same day, I was at work. The cleaner forgot to leave towels and ran out of time to fully dust that day (the place has a lot of brick). I haven't had any complaints about sneezing or dust in the past and didn't find the place to be in bad shape, though it certainly could have been better. When first hearing about the towels I left work, washed the missing towels, and gave the place a once over while the group was out. Please let me know if there's any issue during your stay, it's an old building and a large space so it can be difficult to tame but I really do try to make the place cool, clean, and comfortable for all guests. Your joy in the place is very important to me!
I work in independent music, the arts, and web development. I like the dog next door, traveling, sculptures, herbs & spices. I have lived in this house for the last 5 years but leave town pretty often for work, tour, & to visit scattered kin. I played trombone in Middle Schoo…
