The neighbourhood

The Mission is a culturally diverse, lively neighborhood that is full of things to do.
This has been a Latino neighborhood for a long time and you will find lots of taquerias and Mexican stores and people speaking Spanish.

The neighborhood is quickly changing because of the tech boom. This has brought controversy. There are also lots of great new restaurants and fun things to do.

There are some homeless people in the neighborhood.

Clara's place is incredibly spacious in a great location. We loved the alleyway's murals and time in the Mission neighborhood: great food, shops and markets. She was a super hostess.

Clara's home feels quite spacious. I didn't register when reading that there are two bathrooms (the second is a half bath), which was a nice surprise. There's a full kitchen and a big dining room table to spread out at. The bed is very comfy, for those (like me) who prefer a soft mattress. The alleyway is very pretty with murals, and often lots of visitors sightseeing them. At night, we did like to make sure that there were two of us walking together, but I think that's normal for much of the Mission, and could vary based upon your urban comfort level. The private courtyard is a bit overgrown, so perfectly fine for a breath of fresh air away from the alley, but maybe not great for eating outside or relaxing at length. Clara was very thoughtful, prompt, and communicative.

Fun area and Clara's place is a great place to explore this very up and coming area, which still has a few rough edges. (It makes it far more interesting, while been a fairly safe place.)

This is the second time that a colleague and I have stayed at Clara’s house. Simply put, Clara is a terrific hostess. She is very easy to work with and excels at communication. The description of her place and the accolades she earned are well deserved. It is a wonderful place and a short walk to the BART.

Clara User ProfileClara is a superhost.

I am a San Francisco native and I'm passionate about traveling, cooking, dancing, and cultures. I'm happy to share my place to visitors from around the country and around the world. It used to be a carriage house in the victorian era and now is a uniquely remodeled cottage. I like to make sure that my guests have something to eat for breakfast in the fridge and information on how to navigate the city.
