Villa Alvarez is a beautiful place with outstanding views. House is very clean and have many advantages. However there was a few problems. At first we had a problem with lodge in Villa Alvarez. The Owner of the house doesn't know english language what made a language barrier between us. Because of that check in was really long and tired for us, the Owner was rude and caused unnecessary quarrels. Additionaly when we tried to connact with Olaf to explain misunderstandings he didin't answer the phone or hung up. However after difficult check in everything was ok and we had a wondeful week in Spain. A swimming pool is very well-kept. The grill is a wonderful option for a suppers. In the house is washing machine and dishwasher, but you need to take with you a laundry liquid and dishwasher cubes. The nearest shop you will find in Nerhja, bud you can get there only by a car. Have a nice holiday!

Villa just as pictured and described. Location is between Nerja and La Herradura, both a short drive. Communication was excellent. House was very clean and comfortable. Host left a bottle of wine and olives. There is a handy guidebook for the house. Pool area is fantastic! We spent every afternoon relaxing there. The hill. The villa is located about 2-3 km up a single lane paved mountain road. I was terrified the first trip up. After the second trip it wasn't a problem. It's not for the timid driver. Worth the road for sure. No need for 4x4 as someone else stated. We have a compact car and there was no problem at all. The villa is quiet. There are a few other houses in the area but you never knew anyone was there. Only exception is dogs on next hill that bark on and off. They are far enough away to ignore. Electricity went out one night and the problem was fixed right away. Neighbor helped us figure out which breaker was the problem, so we weren't without electricity for more than 15 minutes. This is something that would happen in your own home - just bad timing. Great location for beaching it and exploring Granada, Malaga and the white towns. Only thing missing that I like to see in a vacation rental is a hair dryer, salt and pepper and maybe some pool or beach towels.

Staying at Villa Alvarez was a very relaxing experience. We were surrounded by calm and tranquillity, in the middle of the hills of Andalusia, with a beautiful view on the sea. The house is very comfortable, with all amenities and very clean. Before going to the house our contact person was Olaf and he was always punctual with his answers and very helpful. He also helped us booking a taxi during our stay. Once arrived at the Villa we met Mrs Alvarez, a very nice lady that provided us with all the answers and support needed. She took care of the pool cleanliness and provided us with a change of bed linen at the beginning of the second week. Mrs Alvarez is not living close the house, so you will have all the time your privacy. At the same time you are surrounded by other villas in the same area, so you won't feel forgotten by God. The pool is much bigger than what it seems to be on the pictures and it is the best piece of the villa. We found 2 BBQs, one stone-BBQ at the terrace at the entrance and the other one, a basic portable one, around the pool. As the two terraces are not directly connected, we used to stay all the time at the pool area using the small BBQ. And it was great! The only downside of the entire experience is the road to arrive to the villa. From the main road you will take secondary roads up to the hills. They go on for a bit (more than 3 km) and you will always hope not to meet another car coming from the opposite direction. The road is very narrow and uphill. The last part of the journey (30m downhill) is not sealed with asphalt and therefore a 4x4 car is recommended. Overall an incredible villa, a real gem, that you don't want to leave too often ;)

So far the best place we've stayed in Spain! The house is spacious and the pool is well sized and clean. Wonderfull patios on both sides of the house, so there's always a choice of shade or sun. The road to the house is not for the timid driver, but well worth it. Only downside is that you have to pay for the WiFi, and it's a bit unsteady. We accidentally booked the wrong date, but our host contacted Airbnb and the dates were changed. We even got a refund from the depository from Airbnb. Big thumbs up to both our host and Airbnb.

Response from Aquavia:
Villa Alvarez is a vast and comfortable house for 6 to 8 persons. It is open for visits to anyone who requests it. The reason why these guests found it too small for them might be that, instead of the announced 6 persons, the group was made of 12 to 15 people - depending on the day. We decided to let them in though, per courtesy. Their gratefulness was to brake both TV remote controls and hide them before inspection. All further comments are as utterly surprising: being in the house for 2 weeks, they could have contacted us then if anything was not working, which they did not. We would recommend other hosts to think well before accepting them, it might not be worth it. On the overall, overbooking is a growing issue here, especially with customers from nearby places - in this case Sevilla. Some visitors let many relatives come in, bringing extra mattresses, etc., while owners cannot be aware. Many local owners simply refuse bookings from fellow Andalusians, which is a paradox. We do not do that, and instead have a policy of accepting everyone. As a matter of fact we have had wonderful guests from Málaga, Sevilla and Granada!
