Hello! My wife and I are renting our freshly rehabbed, historic Chicago greystone house. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a spacious first floor with living room, dining room, kitchen, deck and garage.

The space

Our house features two floors, large airy rooms, high ceilings, a full kitchen and dining room, wireless internet, central air, in-house washer/dryer on the 2nd floor, a covered back porch, a lush back yard, charcoal grill, garage, hardwood floors and sits on 54th St, a very quiet street in Hyde Park. There's plentiful parking in front of our home on the street and if for some reason parking is scarce we have a garage guests can use. We gut rehabbed the 2nd floor of our home last year and while the new oak flooring gleams, the house has retained many vintage details and charm. We have a beautiful master bedroom suite, tub with jets and two more bedrooms on the second floor. Our third bedroom has children's bunk beds.

Whether you’re coming to visit the University of Chicago or the UC Medical Center, traveling to the States or looking to visit a new part of Chicago, our space is ideal for single travelers and couples who enjoy comfort, clean accommodation and green space in the city. I’m an artist so if you’re looking to sample culture in Chicago, whether it’s food, art openings, music or theater, I’m more than happy to provide suggestions for making your stay in the Windy City wonderful.

We're close to the University of Chicago, Hyde Park's restaurants and shops, Promontory Point Park/57th Street Beach and the Museum of Science & Industry. Downtown Chicago is nearby and accessed by the express #6 bus, Metra line or a short 15 minutes down beautiful Lake Shore Drive by car. We’re in the heart of Hyde Park, within walking distance of grocery stores, the newly reopened Harper movie theater and Lake Michigan. Come hang out in our limestone castle!

We really enjoyed staying here on our recent visit to Hyde Park! We have three little kids - so having access to a kitchen and enough sleeping space was essential. We were one block away from Hyde Park Produce, Nichols Park, and a coffee shop - so the location was amazing as well. The house was bright and very clean, and very had no problems finding anything. We really enjoyed hanging out on the back porch with the kids for breakfast and dinner! Jeremiah was responsive to all of our questions and inquiries. All in all, a great house.

Jeremiah is a great communicator. He is fast, clear and specific. His home is excellent in every way. Three nice sized bedrooms. Two large baths up and one small bathroom down were perfect for our rather large party. We were in town for our sons graduation from Uchicago. The location was walkable to festivities all weekend. There is a Starbucks right down the street. The back deck was where we all hung out late at night talking over glasses of wine. All in all a fantastic experience.

Jeremiah went out of his way to accomodate our last minute reservation and was very welcoming at check in. The house was clean and ready for our stay. Our kids were greeted and given a tour by Jeremiah's kids, which was a great personal touch. The house is just like the pictures. The neighboorhood is quiet, yet close to lots of stores, restaurants and transit. We parked our car right out front and didn't use it again until we left. We also had fun playing in the nice park at the end of the block. It was very warm during our time in Chicago. The sleeping areas of the house have A/C, but the downstairs only has an air circulating fan. So we ended up spending more time in the bedrooms than downstairs until the weather cooled a bit.

The house was exactly what we hoped it would be. On top of that, Jeremiah agreed to let us check in early. He set out his grill for us and bought charcoal. His living room book shelf had classic Italian literature to feed my brother's nostalgia for his PhD program in Rome 25 years ago.

The home is great with all the needed amenities. The location was spot on, and loved the fact there where 4-5 playgrounds within a few minutes walk for the kids.

This house was, if possible, even more charming and elegant than pictured. Jeremiah welcomed us at the beginning of our stay, showing us around, offering recommendations for entertainment in the area, and helping to get the kids' room set up for our children. After we contacted him in advance about the possibility of barbequing, he not only let us know that the house had a grill, but also left out charcoal for our use. We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home and recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

What a wonderful home! It was exactly as advertised and perfect for our "base" during University of Chicago Convocation weekend. Jerimiah and his wife were welcoming, accommodating and super easy to work with. I will strongly recommend this spot to our friends whose son graduates next year. Thanks for everything.
