Spend some time in this nice, clean family home, right on top of the marine action that Mirissa is known for.
Price is for the big triple room with hot water. Double rooms are available as well.
Samatha’s is newly built and has four bedrooms, each with attached bathroom, nice little balconies and a common dining area on the veranda. Simple, clean, convenient. Samantha and his family live in a separate part of the house, where he’s even built himself a little Ayurvedic centre.
Interaction with guests
Being a fisherman himself, Samantha mostly fishes for what they call ‘colour fish’ to export. Fishing being a notoriously hard job, he wants his two sons to stick to tourism, a job for which they are well suited, because their English is better than dad’s. “I can’t do anything special” Samatha said when we visited him, but he’s dead wrong. This man spent his life off shore, knows everything about the fish and is happy to share his love of the sea with his guest. Seriously, this is your opportunity to go fishing or snorkelling with a man who knows his trade.
As is usual in Sri Lanka, food and drinks can be arranged upon request.

Neverbeen offers a wide variety of rare homes off the beaten track, from fisherman's huts and tree houses to heritage homes and tea estates. Our team hand-picks and visits every home and meet all hosts to make ensure guests have a positively memorable stay in places they've never been.
We provide travellers and home owners in challenging locations with access to one another, by offering communication services, online marketing services and tourism training, so that locals can make a living off their home and travellers can get to stay in places they have never been.
As such, Neverbeen works for a world in which everyone has the chance to earn income by renting out their home, regardless of language, internet access and tourism experience.
In Sri Lanka, Dishan manages our growing group of homes in cooperation with our scouts, while Rohan creates listings and provides service. In Amsterdam, Marten works out international growth plans. Our team of in-house programmers is constantly developing the platform itself and Ernst & Young does our finances.
The first country we're active in is Sri Lanka, a beautiful country with many undiscovered places to stay. Due to it recently having opened up to tourism after decades of conflict, it is a great place to start and pilot the Neverbeen concept. We plan to expand to ten countries before the end of 2017.
